The use of municipal solid waste incineration fly ash, commonly referred to as "fly ash", as a supplementary cementitious material (SCM), has been explored to mitigate the CO emissions resulting from cement production. Nevertheless, the incorporation of fly ash as an SCM in mortar has been shown to weaken its compressive strength and increase the risk of heavy metal leaching. In light of these challenges, this study aims to comprehensively evaluate the influence of CO pressure, temperature, and residual water/binder ratio on the CO uptake and compressive strength of mortar when combined with fly ash.

Article Synopsis
  • Recent research shows that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are important for helping cancer cells resist endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, but their role in glioma is not well understood.
  • In a study on glioma, it was discovered that the lncRNA small nucleolar RNA host gene 1 (SNHG1) significantly increased when exposed to ER stress, and this increase helped reduce cell death and support tumor growth.
  • Further analysis revealed that SNHG1 works by stabilizing BIRC3 mRNA and boosting BIRC3 levels, while KLF4 was found to enhance SNHG1 expression during ER stress, indicating SNHG1 plays a key role in glioma development through this mechanism

Protein ubiquitination is a post-translation modification mediated by E3 ubiquitin ligases. The RING domain E3 ligases are the largest family of E3 ubiquitin ligases, they act as a scaffold, bringing the E2-ubiquitin complex and its substrate together to facilitate direct ubiquitin transfer. However, the quaternary structures of RING E3 ligases that perform ubiquitin transfer remain poorly understood.
