Background: Ubiquilin-4 (UBQLN4), a member of the ubiquilin family, has received limited attention in cancer research to date. Here, we investigated for the first time the functional role and mechanism of UBQLN4 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Methods: The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database was employed to validate UBQLN4 as a differentially expressed gene.
The objective of this study was to investigate the mechanism of curcumin in diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) wound healing. A DFU rat model was established, and fibroblasts were cultured in a high-glucose (HG) environment to create a cell model. Various techniques, including Western blot, RT‒qPCR, flow cytometry, Transwell, cell scratch test and H&E staining, were employed to measure the levels of relevant genes and proteins, as well as to assess cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and pathological changes.

Methods: Western blotting was used to evaluate the changes in the integrin-FAK-p38MAPK signaling pathway mediated by rESWT using specific antibodies targeting the phosphorylation sites of intracellular signal pathway proteins.
Results: rESWT up-regulated FAK phosphorylation and down-regulated p38MAPK phosphorylation levels in a tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α-induced acute inflammation model of human primary tenocytes.
Background: Chronic ankle instability (CAI) is a common peripheral joint injury and there is still no consensus on the mechanisms. It is necessary to investigate electrocortical parameters to provide clinical insight into the functional alterations of brain activity after an ankle sprain, which would greatly affect the implementation of rehabilitation plans. The purpose of this study was to assess cortical activation characteristics during drop-jump landing among soccer athletes with CAI.

However, the biological role of most lncRNAs in pancreatic cancer (PC) remains unclear. Here, we explored the expression, biological functions, and molecular mechanism of LINC01128 in PC.

Design: Methodological study; SETTING: Hospital and university laboratory.
Participants: 240 subjects were divided into the healthy (n = 80), at-risk (n = 80), and tendinopathy groups (n = 80).
Copious evidence reveals that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) exert great regulatory functions in various human cancers. LINC01224 is a novel lncRNA, identified as a cancer regulator of HCC. However, the underlying mechanisms and clinical significance of LINC01224 in other types of cancers need further researches to explore.

The stiffness reduction of near-surface geomaterials also plays a vital role in geohazards triggering. However, the physical mechanism behind the material softening is still not fully understood.

KT was applied to induce a detoning effect on the quadriceps muscle and toning effect on the ischiocrural muscles.

The projection algorithm used in mixture analysis to determine whether there is unknown disturbance existing in grey system can not accurately identify different samples and similar samples at the same time when it is used in the identification of drugs, because of the insufficient criteria. In the present study, one of its criteria for whether the size of measurement error of testing sample is at a limited level is improved for whether the size and distribution of measurement error is equal and similar between testing sample and standard sample. By testing 6 kinds of normal drugs (including BAYER Aspirin Enteric-coated Tablets, TYLENOL Acetaminophen Sustained Release Tablets, BAYER Compound Paracetamol Tablets(II), HUAZHONG Compound Vitamin C, HUAZHONG Vitamin B and MADINGLIN Demperidone Tablets) and 3 kinds of similar drugs of aspirin (including BAYER Aspirin Enteric-coated Tablets, Shanghai SINE Aspirin Enteric-coated Tablets and Bamyl Aspirin Effervescent Tablets), it was found that the un-improved projection algorithm directly used in discrimination of drugs shows poor performance with many problems existing, however, the improved projection algorithm can discriminate different drugs and similar drugs with accuracy up to 100%.

Methods: A total of 127 patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) who received pegylated interferon (PegIFN) therapy, 20 chronic asymptomatic HBV carriers (AsCs) and 32 healthy controls were recruited. The serum levels of IL-23 and IL-17 were detected by ELISA.
This article describes the development and validation of the Core Competencies Scale (CCS) using Bok's (2006) competency framework for undergraduate education. The framework included: communication, critical thinking, character development, citizenship, diversity, global understanding, widening of interest, and career and vocational development. The sample comprised 70 college and university students.
