Background: Evaluation of sensory functions in chronic stroke survivors is essential to plan and implement effective treatment and rehabilitation.
Objective: To investigate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Revised Nottingham Sensory Assessment (rNSA-T) in chronic stroke survivors.
Methods: We applied the World Health Organization's translation protocols to develop the rNAS-T.
The N-His73 methylation of β-actin by histidine methyltransferase SETD3 is required for the integrity of the cellular cytoskeleton. Modulation of SETD3 activity in human cells facilitates cancer-like changes to the cell phenotype. SETD3 binds β-actin in an extended conformation, with a conserved bend-like motif surrounding His73.

This study investigated the caregiving burden, quality of life and life satisfaction of caregivers of individuals with stroke during the pandemic period. A descriptive a study was performed with a sample of caregivers ( = 80) of inpatient individuals with stroke in Kayseri, Turkey. The Bakas Caregiving Outcomes Scale, Short Form Health Survey-36, and Temporal Satisfaction with Life Scale were used as well as some open-ended questions.

Here, we assessed enzyme specificity using a top-down ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) workflow. We successfully applied trapped IMS (TIMS) to investigate site-specific N-ε-acetylation of lysine residues of full-length histone H4 catalyzed by histone lysine acetyltransferase KAT8.

Histone lysine crotonylation (Kcr) is an epigenetic mark associated with active transcription, and its installation and removal are dynamically regulated by cellular epigenetic enzymes. Here, we report binding studies and enzyme assays with histone H3K9 peptides bearing simplest Kcr analogs with varying hydrocarbon chain length, bulkiness, rigidity and polarity.

Mutations in actin and overexpression of SETD3 have been related to human diseases, including cancer. Here, we investigated the importance of Trp79 in β-actin on productive human SETD3 catalysis.

Here, we explore the molecular recognition of histone H3 peptides possessing methacryllysine and crotonyllysine at positions 18 and 9 (H3K18 and H3K9) by the AF9 YEATS domain. Our binding studies demonstrate that the AF9 YEATS domain displays a higher binding affinity for histones possessing crotonyllysine than the isomeric methacryllysine, indicating that AF9 YEATS distinguishes between the two regioisomers.

Therefore, the concepts of person-organization fit and person-job fit can also be affected by the managers' culture.
Objective: This research aimed to examine the relationships between organization, job fit and cultural values of nurse managers working in university hospitals in Turkey.
Posttranslational modifications (PTMs) on histone tails regulate eukaryotic gene expression by impacting the chromatin structure and by modulating interactions with other cellular proteins. One such PTM has been identified as serine and threonine glycosylation, the introduction of the ß-N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) moiety on histone H3 tail at position Ser10 and Thr32. The addition of the ß-O-GlcNAc moiety on serine or threonine residues is facilitated by the O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT), and can be removed by the action of O-GlcNAcase (OGA).

SETD3-catalysed -methylation of His73 in β-actin plays a key role in stabilisation of actin filaments in the metazoan cells. Overexpression and/or dysregulation of SETD3 is associated with several human pathologies, including cancer. Here, we examined the role of the Ile71 residue in β-actin on human SETD3 catalysis.

Methods: D-SPIRIT is the first national, multicenter, prospective, observational, postmarketing registry that investigates the usage of dabigatran in real life. A total of 326 noveloral anticoagulant-eligible patients with atrial fibrillation who have been taking dabigatran etexilate therapy for stroke prevention at least 6 months from 9 different centers were enrolled into the registry.
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are an emerging class of materials employed for custom-designed purposes by judicious selection of linkers and metal ions. Among the MOFs composed of carboxylate linkers, Zr-based MOFs have attracted great attention due to their high thermal and chemical stabilities, which are important for practical applications, including capturing CO from a point source. UiO-67(bipy) containing 2,2'-bipyridine-5,5'-dicarboxylate is particularly useful among the Zr-MOF family due to the Lewis basic sites of the linker; however, the hydrolytic stability of UiO-67(bipy) does not seem to be as high as those of UiO-66 and UiO-67.

Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome (SLOS) is caused by a deficiency in the enzyme 7-dehydrocholesterol reductase (DHCR7) that results in an abnormality in cholesterol metabolism. SLOS is inherited as an autosomal recessive genetic disorder. In this case, we describe a 34-day-old patient with postnatal progressive projectile vomiting, diagnosed with hypertrophic pyloric stenosis, who was suspected to have SLOS during treatment clinical and biochemical profile.

This study aims to estimate the control law employed by the central nervous system (CNS) to keep a person in balance after a sudden disturbance. For this aim, several experiments were carried out, in which the subjects were perturbed sagittally by using a single-axis tilt-platform and their motions were recorded with appropriate sensors. The analysis of the experimental results leads to the contribution of this paper as a conjecture that the CNS commands the muscular actuators of the joints according to an adaptive proportional-derivative (PD) control law such that its gains and set points are updated continuously.
