This case report was prepared to provide information about (Neumann, 1912), which was detected for the first time on a domestic chicken in Hatay province of Türkiye. Louse specimens collected from a chicken by a student were brought to Hatay Mustafa Kemal University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Parasitology, and sent to Selçuk University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Parasitology, for identification of species and microscopic examination revealed the presence of (Neumann, 1912). Between September 2019 and December 2023, a total of 612 wild birds representing 16 orders, 33 families, 60 genera, and 78 species from nine provinces of Iran with different climates namely Hamedan ( = 54), Sistan-va-Baluchestan ( = 372), Kerman ( = 73), South Khorasan ( = 52), Mazandaran ( = 7), Chaharmahal-va-Bakhtiari ( = 2), Gilan ( = 2), Golestan ( = 18), North Khorasan ( = 9), and Razavi Khorasan ( = 23) were examined for chewing lice infestation. Chewing lice (Phthiraptera, Ischnocera and Amblycera) are permanent ectoparasites of birds and primarly feed on the feathers and scales of birds. To detect the chewing lice species found on birds in Aras basin, Igdir, Türkiye, a total of 240 birds represented by 61 species belonging to 30 families in 13 orders were examined during the 2021 bird migration season. A total of 531 (186 females, 136 males and 209 nymphs) lice were collected from 75 individuals (31,25% of birds examined) of 26 species, 21 families and 10 orders.

Schmallenberg orthobunyavirus (SBV), first discovered in 2011, belongs to the Orthobunyavirus genus of the Peribunyaviridae family. SBV, which predominantly infects ruminants, can cause severe fetal malformations when pregnant animals are infected during a critical phase of gestation. In this study, 1590 blood serum samples from cattle, sheep, and goats were obtained for serological investigation and 1604 specimens for virological investigation (including 1414 whole blood with EDTA, 165 vaginal swab samples from aborting animals, and tissue samples from 25 dead and/or aborted fetuses) in private and family-type ruminant establishments in Turkey's Eastern Mediterranean region.

Approximately 250 feral horses [ (Linnaeus, 1758)] living on Karadağ Mountain near Karaman City were caught by Kazakh horse herdsmen with permission of the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and brought to a farm in Karkın village in Konya Province, 70 km from Karadağ, in November, 2017. Bovine leukemia virus (BLV) is known as the etiological agent of Enzootic bovine leukosis (EBL), which is the most common neoplastic disease of cattle. Identification of Culicoides (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae) biting midges to species has become important due to their potential role in the transmission of arboviruses such as bluetongue virus, bovine ephemeral fever virus, Akabane virus, African horse sickness virus, epizootic haemorrhagic disease virus and Schmallenberg virus. In several studies, molecular tools, used for the identification of biting midges, revealed the presence of cryptic and undescribed species especially within Pulicaris complex. The presence of cryptic species within species complexes raise questions about their role in viral disease transmission as there are apparent differences in the vectorial capacity between closely related species.
