Objectives: This study aimed to investigate and review the effects of mirror therapy on upper limb function, including improvements in shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand function, as well as coordination between the upper extremities, in patients with stroke.

Data Sources: Six databases, CINAHL Plus with Full Text, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Embase, Medline Complete, PubMed, and Web of Science, were searched from database inception to 15 October 2024, as well as manual searching of Google Scholar, for relevant trials.

Review Methods: The methodological quality of the trials was assessed using version 2 of the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool with five domains.

Vibration therapy for patients with hard-to-heal wounds: A systematic review and meta-analysis of experimental studies.

Introduction: Hard-to-heal wounds lead to functional loss, decreased quality of life, and prolonged hospitalization due to delayed healing. The healthcare costs of managing such wounds are substantial. Vibration therapy has been proposed as an alternative treatment for hard-to-heal wounds but no comprehensive reviews have quantitatively analyzed its efficacy.

The Effectiveness of Applying Artificial Intelligence in Sick Children's Communication.

Pediatric nursing students are required to be taught how to overcome their own psychological stress during their internship in order to understand sick children's emotional reactions, as well as to be able to interact and communicate with such children. This quasi-experimental study proves that the application of AI image health education e-books by the nursing teacher is more effective than traditional paper handout teaching materials in improving nursing students' self-efficacy when using therapeutic games to deal with and reduce sick children's fears of medical examinations and treatments ( < 0.05).

Beneficial effects of non-pharmacological interventions for post-stroke pain: A meta-analysis.

Purpose: Pain is a frequent post-stroke health concern, and several non-pharmacological interventions are commonly employed to manage it. However, few reviews have examined the effectiveness of such interventions, making it difficult to draw conclusions about their usefulness. Furthermore, subgroup analysis based on post-stroke pain level or intervention characteristics is rarely performed.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyze the efficacy of non-pharmacological, interactive, and emotional art therapy interventions for patients with mild neurocognitive disorder (mild NCD) or major neurocognitive disorder (MNCD).

Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis assessed English-language literature published from January 1, 2001, to August 22, 2021, and indexed in CINAHL, EMBASE, MEDLINE, PubMed, Web of Science, and PsycINFO. People with mild NCD or MNCD who received art therapy were classified as the intervention group.

Longitudinal Association Among Illness Perceptions, Coping, and Quality of Life After Extremity Injury.

This longitudinal cohort study examined changes in illness perceptions, coping strategies, and quality of life in hospitalized participants who had sustained extremity injuries, and examined the associations among these changes. A sample of 138 patients with extremity injuries was recruited between August 2019 and April 2020 from the trauma units of two similar referral medical centers, each with a capacity of over 200 beds in Surabaya City, Indonesia. Outcome measures were assessed prior to hospital discharge and 3 months post-discharge, including the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire, the Brief Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced, and the World Health Organization Quality of Life.
