Helicase-like transcription factor (HLTF) has been found to be involved in the maintenance of genome stability and tumour suppression, but whether its downregulation in cancers is associated with posttranslational regulation remains unclear. Here, we observed that HLTF was significantly downregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues and positively associated with the survival of HCC patients. Mechanistically, the decreased expression of HLTF in HCC was attributed to elevated β-TrCP-mediated ubiquitination and degradation.

China's emission control for nonroad diesel mobile machinery (NDMM) must deal with a fast increase in stock as well as regulations that are two decades behind those for on-road vehicles. This study provides the first large-scale review and evaluation of China's NDMM policies, along with emission measurements and an investigation on diesel fuel quality. The sulfur contents of the investigated diesel declined from 430 ppm (median value) in 2011 to 6-8 ppm during the 2017-2018 period.

An updated comprehensive IVOC emission inventory for mobile sources in China.

Intermediate volatility organic compounds (IVOCs) from mobile sources contribute significantly to secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formation. However, the assessments of IVOC emissions remain considerably uncertain due to the lack of localized measured data and detailed emission source classifications. This study established a comprehensive database of IVOC emission factors (EFs) for mobile sources based on the diversified measured EFs and correlations with hydrocarbons.

Glioma is malignant tumor derives from glial cells in the central nervous system. High-grade glioma shows aggressive growth pattern, and conventional treatments, such as surgical removal and chemo-radiotherapy, archive limitation in the interference of this process. In this work, HOXA5, from the HOX family, was identified as a glioma cell proliferation-associated factor by investigating its feature in the TCGA and CGGA data set.

Complexation between High-Amylose Starch and Binary Aroma Compounds of Decanal and Thymol: Cooperativity or Competition?

The use of combinations of aroma compounds is common in many food and cosmetic applications. To investigate the binding behavior between high-amylose maize starch and binary aroma combinations of decanal and thymol, starch-aroma inclusion complexes (ICs) were prepared by a one-step or two-step method with different concentrations and orders of addition. The thymol molecule induced the starch chain to form a larger helical cavity and was more likely to form hydrogen bonds with solvents.

Elevated preoperative CA125 levels predicts poor prognosis of hilar cholangiocarcinoma receiving radical surgery.

Background: Preoperative serum carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125) is used to judge the diagnosis and prognosis of various tumors. However, the relationship between preoperative serum CA125 and prognosis of hilar cholangiocarcinoma (HCCA) has not been proven. This study aims to evaluate preoperative serum CA125 in predicting the prognosis of HCCA after resection.

Background: As a nutritional index, preoperative serum prealbumin highly correlates with surgical complications. However, the correlation between preoperative prealbumin and postoperative complications remains unclear in liver transplantation (LT).

The new edition was written by more than 70 experts in the field of liver cancer in China.

Background: A normal albumin-to-globulin ratio (NAGR) in serum is greater than 1. Inversed albumin-to-globulin ratio (IAGR < 1) indicates poor synthetic liver function or malnutrition. The aim of this study is to evaluate whether preoperative IAGR was associated with worse oncologic survival after hepatectomy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Aberrantly low expression of NF-κB inhibitor α (IκBα) is observed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), yet the underlying mechanism via which IκBα regulates HCC remains largely unknown. Therefore, to determine the potential function of IκBα in hepatocarcinogenesis, the present study used immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining to analyze the associations between IκBα protein expression and clinicopathologic characteristics of 107 patients with HCC. It was found that expression of IκBα was significantly associated with tumor recurrence.
