A review of toxicity assessment procedures of solar photovoltaic modules.

Environmental management of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules is attracting attention as a growing number of field-operated PV modules approach end of life (EoL). PV modules may contain small amounts of toxic metals, and the procedures for assessing and regulating the toxic metal content and release of such materials at EoL differ widely across nations. This paper provides an overview of the metal composition of PV modules and common procedures for toxicity assessment through extensive research and review of technical literature and legislative documents.

Perception towards vaccine effectiveness in controlling COVID-19 spread in rural and urban communities: A global survey.

Introduction: Several studies exhibited varying reports of perception toward vaccine effectiveness, vaccine hesitancy, and acceptance of COVID-19 vaccines. As this fluctuated with evidence generation, this study explored the perception toward vaccine effectiveness in rural and urban communities among various countries.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted online from April to August 2021 using convenience sampling among people from different countries approved by the Asia Metropolitan University Medical Research and Ethics.

Recently, studies have reported that inflammatory response and elevated platelet counts are associated with several cancers. In the present study, we aimed to evaluate hemocytometer parameters in differentiating adrenal adenoma and carcinoma, and the prognostic utility of hemocytometer parameters in adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC). We included 30 patients with nonfunctional adrenal adenoma and 13 patients with ACC having undergone surgery between 2005 and 2017 and followed up postoperatively at our centre.

Estimating global injuries morbidity and mortality: methods and data used in the Global Burden of Disease 2017 study.

Background: While there is a long history of measuring death and disability from injuries, modern research methods must account for the wide spectrum of disability that can occur in an injury, and must provide estimates with sufficient demographic, geographical and temporal detail to be useful for policy makers. The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2017 study used methods to provide highly detailed estimates of global injury burden that meet these criteria.

Methods: In this study, we report and discuss the methods used in GBD 2017 for injury morbidity and mortality burden estimation.

Methods: In this case-control study, we enrolled eligible patients with breast cancer who were receiving regular medical selective estrogen receptor modulator (tamoxifen, n:50), aromatase inhibitors (anastrozole, letrozole, n:50) and gender-matched healthy controls (n:50).

Inheritance of pod and seed traits in chickpea.

A 4 x 4 full-diallel cross was studied to estimate the gene effects and genetic parameters of pod and seed traits. According to Hayman's method, additive genetic variance was significant for pod length and seed length and width, also, both additive and dominance genetic variance were significant for pod thickness and width. As additive gene effects were significant for pod and seed traits, it is suggesting the selection of this traits early generations.
