A novel approach for evaluating geology-engineering dual sweet spots in tight gas reservoirs in the LX block of China.

The LX tight gas reservoir displays significant heterogeneity, with a lack of alignment between engineering treatment and geological evaluation, leading to an unsatisfactory development outcome. Focusing on the Shihezi Formation of LX, a new comprehensive evaluation method is proposed for identifying sweet spots, taking into consideration both geological and engineering factors. The objective function utilized is post-frac production, and the grey correlation method was employed to quantitatively characterize the weight coefficients of geological and engineering parameters.

An improved beetle antennae search algorithm and its application in coverage of wireless sensor networks.

This manuscript presents ABSAS-CS-GSA, an improved iteration of the beetle antennae search (BAS) algorithm, tailored to address the shortcoming of the BAS with low convergence accuracy and easily falling into local optima. The improvements are structured into three principal components: first, dynamic step-size adjustment predicated on initial population to bolster solution accuracy and expedite convergence; second, position update mechanism integrating golden sine algorithm to diversify search patterns and expedite convergence; and third, population disturbance based on vertical and horizontal cross strategy to avoid falling into local optima. Experimental results on 12 benchmark functions demonstrate ABSAS-CS-GSA's superiority over the standard BAS and its four variants, as well as over two classic swarm intelligence algorithms.

A study on the relationship between gut microbiota and intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy.

Objective: Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) is a pregnancy-specific liver disease associated with a high incidence of complications in the mid and late stages of gestation. This study investigates differences in the composition of intestinal flora among pregnant women diagnosed with ICP, employing Illumina MiSeq high-throughput sequencing technology.

Methods: This case-control study obtained patient data from the hospital information system (HIS) and the laboratory information system (LIS).

Improved YOLOv7-based steel surface defect detection algorithm.

In response to the limited detection ability and low model generalization ability of the YOLOv7 algorithm for small targets, this paper proposes a detection algorithm based on the improved YOLOv7 algorithm for steel surface defect detection. First, the Transformer-InceptionDWConvolution (TI) module is designed, which combines the Transformer module and InceptionDWConvolution to increase the network's ability to detect small objects. Second, the spatial pyramid pooling fast cross-stage partial channel (SPPFCSPC) structure is introduced to enhance the network training performance.

Single-cell profiling of ineffective erythropoiesis in a mouse model of β-thalassaemia intermedia.

Beta-thalassaemia is an inherited haemoglobin disorder characterised by ineffective erythropoiesis (IE). The detailed pathogenesis of IE remains unclear. In this study, we used single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to examine IE in Th3/+ β-thalassaemic mice.

[Analysis of IVD gene variants in four children with isovalerate acidemia].

Objective: To detect variants of IVD gene among 4 neonates with suspected isovalerate acidemia in order to provide a guidance for clinical treatment.

Methods: 111 986 newborns and 7461 hospitalized children with suspected metabolic disorders were screened for acyl carnitine by tandem mass spectrometry. Those showing a significant increase in serum isovaleryl carnitine (C5) were analyzed for urinary organic acid and variants of the IVD gene.

Application of Machine Vision in Classifying Gait Frailty Among Older Adults.

Frail older adults have an increased risk of adverse health outcomes and premature death. They also exhibit altered gait characteristics in comparison with healthy individuals. In this study, we created a Fried's frailty phenotype (FFP) labelled casual walking video set of older adults based on the West China Health and Aging Trend study.

Dual ligand-promoted palladium-catalyzed nondirected C-H alkenylation of aryl ethers.

Direct C-H functionalization of aryl ethers remains challenging owing to their low reactivity and selectivity. Herein, a novel strategy for nondirected C-H alkenylation of aryl ethers promoted by a dual ligand catalyst was demonstrated. This catalytic system readily achieved the highly efficient alkenylation of alkyl aryl ethers (anisole, phenetole, n-propyl phenyl ether, n-butyl phenyl ether and benzyl phenyl ether), cyclic aryl ethers (1,4-benzodioxan, 2,3-dihydrobenzofuran, dibenzofuran), and diphenyl oxides.

A dual functional fluorogenic probe for visualization of intracellular pH and formaldehyde with distinct fluorescence signals.

In this study, a single fluorescent probe (DPFP) containing a 1,8-naphthalimide dye and a homoallylamino group for imaging pH and formaldehyde (FA) has been developed that exhibits significant blue fluorescence (λ at 455 nm) under acidic pH conditions (pH < 7.0) and green fluorescence (λ at 555 nm) in the presence of FA, respectively. Furthermore, probe DPFP was successfully applied to image acidic lysosomes and exogenous or endogenous FA in living HeLa cells.

Background: To investigate the etiology of X-linked hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (XLHED) in a family with an inversion of the X chromosome [inv(X)(p21q13)] and to achieve a healthy birth following preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD).

Methods: Next generation sequencing (NGS) and Sanger sequencing analysis were carried out to define the inversion breakpoint. Multiple displacement amplification, amplification of breakpoint junction fragments, Sanger sequencing of exon 1 of ED1, haplotyping of informative short tandem repeat markers and gender determination were performed for PGD.

Highly Stretchable, Ultrasensitive, and Wearable Strain Sensors Based on Facilely Prepared Reduced Graphene Oxide Woven Fabrics in an Ethanol Flame.

The recent booming development of wearable electronics urgently calls for high-performance flexible strain sensors. To date, it is still a challenge to manufacture flexible strain sensors with superb sensitivity and a large workable strain range simultaneously. Herein, a facile, quick, cost-effective, and scalable strategy is adopted to fabricate novel strain sensors based on reduced graphene oxide woven fabrics (GWF).

Functional properties of peripheral CD8 T cells in patients with repeated implantation failure.

CD8 T cells are the main candidates to recognize and respond to fetal HLA-C at the fetal-maternal interface, but data on the amount of peripheral CD8 T cells and their functions during the window of implantation in recurrent implantation failure (RIF) patients are limited. Peripheral blood was obtained from 56 women with RIF and 16 fertile women in the mid-luteal phase of the menstrual cycle, and the CD8 T cells were determined by FACS analysis. No statistical differences in the proportion of peripheral CD8 T cells were observed among the women with RIF and the control group.

Aberrant expressions of endometrial Id3 and CTLA-4 are associated with unexplained repeated implantation failure and recurrent miscarriage.

Inhibitor of DNA-binding protein 3 (Id3) is required for tumor angiogenesis and regulatory T-cell generation. However, the involvement of Id3 in unexplained repeated implantation failure (RIF) and recurrent miscarriage (RM) remains poorly understood. Immunohistochemistry was used to identify Id3, CD34, CTLA-4, and FOXP3 in the endometrium taken from the women with RIF (n=16), RM (n=16) and matched controls (n=8).

Clinical outcomes for couples containing a reciprocal chromosome translocation carrier without preimplantation genetic diagnosis.

Objective: To evaluate the pregnancy outcomes of couples containing a carrier of a reciprocal chromosome translocation (RCT) after assisted reproductive technology without preimplantation genetic diagnosis.

Methods: A retrospective study was performed using data for couples with an RCT carrier and control couples with a normal karyotype (1:4 ratio) who underwent assisted reproductive technology cycles at a Chinese fertility center in 2010-2011. The embryos were fertilized via in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).

Background: Chlamydia, caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis(C. trachomatis), is the most common sexually transmitted disease. The incidence is not clear due to the asymptomatic nature of early stage of infections.

Background: Spontaneous abortion (SA) is the most common complication of pregnancy, and chromosome aberrations are the principal cause of the first trimester abortuses in natural conception (NC) The increasing use of assisted reproductive technology (ART) has raised concern about chromosome abnormalities in ART-initiated pregnancies. Up to date, the literature on the risk of aneuploidy in failed pregnancies among various ART factors remain limited and inconclusive. This study aimed to explore the genetic etiology of pregnancy loss conceived from varying ART procedures.

Modulatory effects of vitamin D on peripheral cellular immunity in patients with recurrent miscarriage.

Problem: We aimed to investigate the modulatory effects of vitamin D on peripheral blood cellular immune response in patients with recurrent miscarriage (RM).

Method Of Study: The effect of vitamin D on the number of peripheral blood cells, T helper 1 (Th1) cytokines, and NK cytotoxicity was measured in 99 women with RM.

Results: The percentage of CD19 B cells and NK cytotoxicity at an effector-to-target cell (E:T) ratio of 50:1, 25:1, and 12.

This study aimed to explore whether the presence of a Y chromosome azoospermia factor (AZF) microdeletion confers any adverse effect on embryonic development and clinical outcomes after intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) treatment. Fifty-seven patients with AZF microdeletion were included in the present study and 114 oligozoospermia and azoospermia patients without AZF microdeletion were recruited as controls. Both AZF and control groups were further divided into subgroups based upon the methods of semen collection: the AZF-testicular sperm extraction subgroup (AZF-TESE, n = 14), the AZF-ejaculation subgroup (AZF-EJA, n = 43), the control-TESE subgroup (n = 28) and the control-EJA subgroup (n = 86).

Method Of Study: Fifty-one women were included in this study, of which 24 women were successfully pregnant in the index IVF cycle (the successful pregnancy group, sPG) and 27 women failed to get pregnant (the non-pregnancy group, nPG). Peripheral blood was collected at three time points during COS: on the day before the first GnRHa administration (GnRHa day), on the day before the first Gn administration (Gn day), and on the day before HCG administration (HCG day).
