In recent years, cancer immunotherapy has received widespread attention due to significant tumor clearance in some malignancies. Various immunotherapy approaches, including vaccines, immune checkpoint inhibitors, oncolytic virotherapy, bispecific T cell engagers, and adoptive T cell transfer, have completed or are undergoing clinical trials for prostate cancer. Despite immune checkpoint blockade's extraordinary effectiveness in treating a variety of cancers, targeted prostate cancer treatment using the immune system is still in its infancy.

Article Synopsis
  • - The gut microbiota plays a crucial role in maintaining host health, and its imbalance is linked to diseases like prostate inflammation and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
  • - This review analyzed literature up to April 2023, focusing on how the gut microbiota contributes to prostate issues and potential treatments that modify the microbiome.
  • - Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) produced by gut bacteria help protect the gut lining and control inflammation; however, an imbalance in the microbiota lowers SCFA levels, leading to health problems like prostate inflammation.

High-entropy oxides (HEOs) have garnered significant attention within the realm of rechargeable batteries owing to their distinctive advantages, which encompass diverse structural attributes, customizable compositions, entropy-driven stabilization effects, and remarkable superionic conductivity. Despite the brilliance of HEOs in energy conversion and storage applications, there is still lacking a comprehensive review for both entry-level and experienced researchers, which succinctly encapsulates the present status and the challenges inherent to HEOs, spanning structural features, intrinsic properties, prevalent synthetic methodologies, and diversified applications in rechargeable batteries. Within this review, the endeavor is to distill the structural characteristics, ionic conductivity, and entropy stabilization effects, explore the practical applications of HEOs in the realm of rechargeable batteries (lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and lithium-sulfur batteries), including anode and cathode materials, electrolytes, and electrocatalysts.

Article Synopsis
  • Several studies suggest that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), especially aspirin, may lower the risk of various cancers, but more research is needed to fully understand these relationships.
  • Our umbrella review assessed the quality and biases of existing literature, revealing that while NSAIDs may reduce incidence for many cancers, taking non-aspirin NSAIDs could actually raise kidney cancer risks.
  • Despite some potential benefits, the overall quality of studies was low, and due to possible side effects, routine NSAID use for cancer prevention isn't recommended.

Selenium is an essential trace metalloid element that is associated with fundamental importance to human health. Our umbrella review aimed to evaluate the quality of evidence, validity, and biases in the relationship between selenium intake and health-related outcomes according to published systematic reviews with pooled data and meta-analyses. Selenium intake is associated with a decreased risk of digestive system cancers, all-cause mortality, depression, and Keshan disease, when in children reduce the risk of Kashin-Beck disease.
