Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess how much parents of school children know about asthma, particularly those whose children have been diagnosed with the condition.
  • The research involved 154 parents from two groups: those with asthmatic children and a control group with healthy children, using the Newcastle Asthma Knowledge Questionnaire.
  • Results showed that only 30.5% of parents had an acceptable level of asthma knowledge, with better scores in the Asthma Group and a notable difference between children with mild/moderate asthma compared to severe asthma, highlighting the need for improved public asthma education.
