Cementless total hip arthroplasty is a common surgical procedure and perioperative thromboprophylaxis is used to prevent deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism. Article Synopsis
  • Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have revolutionized cancer treatment, enhancing survival rates for patients with advanced cancers like melanoma and lung cancer by boosting the immune system's response to tumors.
  • These therapies target specific proteins (PD1, PD-L1, CTLA-4) that regulate T cell activity, which helps the immune system identify and attack malignant cells.
  • However, ICIs can cause serious cardiac side effects, such as myocarditis, leading to significant health risks, prompting a need for ongoing research and understanding of these immune-related adverse events.
