The brain retention of Mn(2+) is relatively long with a half-life (t1/2) of 51-74 days causing a slow decline of MRI signal enhancement following Mn(2+) administration. Toll-like receptor (TLRs) is a type of pattern-recognition receptor that recognizes pathogen-associated molecular patterns, the important mediator of innate immunity. The aim of this study was to examine the anti-inflammatory effect of TLR2 monoclonal antibody (TLR2 mAb) on concanavalin A (ConA) induced-hepatitis. Our in vitro findings indicated that the TLR2 monoclonal antibody developed by us was able to neutralize the activation of peripherial blood mononucleated cells (PBMC) induced by ConA.
