Humans are exposed to various chemical elements that have been associated with the development and progression of diseases such as coronary artery disease (CAD). Unlike previous research, we employed a multi-element approach to investigate CAD patients and those with comorbid conditions such as diabetes (CAD-DM2), high blood pressure (CAD-HBP), or high blood lipids (CAD-HBL). Plasma concentrations of 21 elements, including lithium (Li), boron (B), aluminum (Al), calcium (Ca), titanium (Ti), vanadium (V), chromium (Cr), manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), arsenic (As), selenium (Se), strontium (Sr), cadmium (Cd), tin (Sn), stibium (Sb), barium (Ba), and lead (Pb), were measured in CAD patients (n = 201) and healthy subjects (n = 110) using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS).

However, common complications of PEG include wound infection, leakage, obstruction, bleeding, dislodgement, pneumonia, peritonitis, and more. The anticipation of these complications by both patients and their family caregivers underscores the essential requirement of ongoing technical guidance for the daily care of PEG and the adoption of preventative strategies.

However, the potential mechanism affecting bleeding among individuals is unclear. Herein, we investigated the involvement of CYP2C19*2 and CYP2C19*3, as well as 10 miRNA polymorphisms, in bleeding in Chinese patients with ACS during the first year of clopidogrel treatment.

We developed a risk assessment strategy that assessed the heavy metal-associated health risk of CHMs based on our large dataset. Using a combination of the mean and 95th percentile (P95) values of the chronic daily intake (CDI), hazard quotient (HQ), hazard index (HI), and lifetime cancer risk (CR), the health risks of the average exposure population and the high exposure population were estimated, respectively.

Aim Of Study: We critically summarized the current evidence on the botanic characterization and distribution, ethnopharmacology, secondary metabolites, pharmacological activities, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and toxicology of Celastrus species to provide perspectives for developing more attractive pharmaceuticals of plant origin.
Materials And Methods: The relevant information on Celastrus species was gathered from worldwide accepted scientific databases via electronic search (Web of Science, SciFinder, PubMed, Elsevier, SpringerLink, Wiley Online, China Knowledge Resource Integrated, and Google Scholar).

The extracellular electron transfer (EET) mechanism of an isolated Gram-positive Bacillus megaterium strain (LLD-1), identified by 16S rRNA gene sequencing and physiological analysis, was investigated in the present study. The electrochemical activity of strain LLD-1 was confirmed by electrochemical E-t and amperometric I-t tests. Flavins in culture suspension from strain LLD-1 were further proved to be able to act as electron shuttles, strengthening the electron transfer from LLD-1 to the electrode.

The effects of CES1 S75N (rs2307240,C>T) on clopidogrel response among 851 acute coronary syndrome patients who came from the north, central and south of China were studied. The occurrence ratios of each endpoint in the CC group were significantly higher than in the CT + TT group for cerebrovascular events (14% vs 4.

However, a substantial number of patients do not respond to clopidogrel despite a standardized dosage regimen, and this is directly associated with poor prognosis. Genetic polymorphisms may be one of the most important factors that contribute to this phenomenon.

Background: Hypertension is the most common chronic disease and the calcium channel antagonist is the most popularly used antihypertensive drug in Chinese patients. Azelnidipine is a third generation and long-acting dihydropyridine calcium channel antagonist. A series of research has demonstrated that azelnidipine produced an effective antihypertensive effect in patients with essential hypertension.

However, it remains unclear whether such an effect of clopidogrel is associated with CYP2C19 polymorphisms that determine the antiplatelet effect of clopidogrel. After genotyping, 12 healthy participants were enrolled in the study.

Alanine-glyoxylate aminotransferase 2 (AGXT2) plays an important role in ADMA metabolism. This study was designed to explore the association of the AGXT2 V140I (rs37369 G>A) polymorphism with risk for coronary heart disease (CHD) in a Chinese population.

Methods: A single dose of 100 mg caffeine was administered once before and once on the last day of a 14-day treatment regime with 1 g genistein once daily to 18 healthy female volunteers. Urine and blood samples were collected up to 12 and 24 h, respectively, after each caffeine dose.
Background: Curcumin is a kind of plant polyphenol that is extracted from the rhizome of Curcuma longa. Studies about the effect of curcumin on the activity of drug-metabolizing enzymes in humans are lacking.
Objective: To investigate the effect of curcumin on the activities of CYP1A2, CYP2A6, N-acetyltransferase (NAT2), and xanthine oxidase (XO) in vivo, using caffeine as a probe drug.

Nurse shifting has long been a headache for nurse management. The traditional paper-and pencil shifting is time consuming and inefficient due to the huge work shift data and other considerable factors, such as overlap shifting, overtime shifting or even overleap shifting. In order to focus on the well-being of the patients and improve the quality and efficiency of nursing care, a computerized nurse shifting information system is essential.
