A case is reported in which a 46-year-old normotensive male patient presented with large right-sided painless abdominal mass. On sonography there was a large cyst in the lower pole of right kidney. Intravenous urography showed distortion of pelvicollecting system and medial shift of upper right ureter.

Method: Parasites were isolated from clinically and parasitologically confirmed lesions of cutaneous leishmaniasis from 30 patients by fine needle aspiration (FNA). The bioptical materials were then cultured in Evans Tobie's medium and parasites isolated were identified by isoenzyme electrophoresis technique.
Objective: Cutaneous leishmaniasis is endemic in Multan. Therefore this study was undertaken to elucidate the epidemiological features with main emphasis on the geographical distribution of the infection in Multan.
Settings: Multan city.
Objective: To study the chemical composition of upper renal tract (renal and ureteric) calculi in Multan.
Setting: Department of Urology, Nishtar Hospital, Multan.
Study Period: September 1992 to February 1999.

In order to identify and characterise the organisms responsible for Cutaneous Leishmaniasis, parasites were isolated from active lesions, grown in-vitro cultures and identified by iso-enzyme characterisation. Thirteen isolates from different patients were typed as L. tropica.
