Proteomic analysis of sperm cells offers significant insights into proteins' structural, functional, and localization aspects within biological systems. Sahiwal, a native Indian cattle breed, is well known for its disease resistance, calving ease, and resilience to drought. This study addressed the gap in Sahiwal's comprehensive sperm proteome profiling data.

We analyzed access barriers to anti-CD19+ chimeric antigen receptor T cells (CARTs) for non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) within a community-based transplant and cell therapy network registry. A total of 357 intended recipients for approved anti-CD19+ CARTs were identified between 2018 to 2022. The median age at referral was 61 years; referral years were 2018 (4%), 2019 (14%), 2020 (18%), 2021 (26%), and 2022 (38%).

The treatment setting influences acute myeloid leukemia (AML) outcomes. Most cancer patients receive care in the community, yet few studies have evaluated the effectiveness of clinical programs outside of academic or National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer centers. This was a multi-level, case-controlled study of real-world outcomes for initial AML treatment in a community-based network for 1,391 patients with AML between 2011 and 2018.

Objectives: Topical silver treatments and silver dressings are increasingly being utilized for the local treatment of wounds; nevertheless, the evidence for their usefulness is unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of conventional dressings and silver colloid dressing on diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) with and without compression therapy.

Material And Methods: This prospective, double-blind experiment included 50 patients with non-ischemic DFUs, split into two groups of 25 patients each.

Introduction: Females seeking medical attention at breast clinics commonly present with nonmalignant breast conditions, including nonspecific breast pain or distinct masses like fibroadenomas. Due to its variability, it may be difficult to quantify breast pain. The purpose of the research was to compare centchroman and evening primrose oil to identify a cost-effective, secure, and efficient treatment for benign breast disease.

The mammalian cell is a complex entity, with membrane-bound and membrane-less organelles playing vital roles in regulating cellular homeostasis. Organellar protein niches drive discrete biological processes and cell functions, thus maintaining cell equilibrium. Cellular processes such as signaling, growth, proliferation, motility, and programmed cell death require dynamic protein movements between cell compartments.

Introduction Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a new concept and an important area of investigation. In Western country's literature, different studies reported on TNBC and all indicated the poor prognostic aspect of this molecular subtype over other types of breast cancer. However, there is a scarcity of comprehensive data from India.

Introduction: Role of CT scan, MRI, ophthalmoscopy, direct monitoring by a transducer probe in identifying raised intracranial pressure (ICP) in emergency department is limited. There are few studies correlating elevated optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) measured by point of care ultrasound (POCUS) with raised ICP in pediatrics emergencies. We studied the diagnostic accuracy of ONSD, crescent sign, and optic disc elevation in identifying increased ICP in pediatrics.

Introduction Hemorrhoids are basically anal cushions which turn out to be pathological giving rise to bleeding, pain and protrusion outside the anal canal. The chief complaint of patients with hemorrhoids is bleeding from the rectum which is usually painless and associated with episodes of defecation. The study was done to assess postoperative pain, time duration of the procedure, complications in the postoperative period, return to normal work, and recurrence between the stapler and open hemorrhoidectomy for grade III and IV hemorrhoids.

Article Synopsis
  • Transgenders in India are at a heightened risk for HIV, with oral lesions being early indicators of the infection, prompting a study to evaluate these lesions among HIV-positive transgenders in Odisha.
  • The cross-sectional study included 163 participants, with a majority on antiretroviral therapy (ART), revealing common oral issues like hyperpigmentation, aphthous ulcers, and angular cheilitis.
  • Identifying and assessing these oral manifestations can enhance the overall quality of life for this marginalized group by guiding better healthcare interventions.

The present study reports the impact of the interplay between electroactive properties of the biomaterials and electrical stimulation (ES) toward the cell proliferation, migration and maturation of osteoprogenitors (preosteoblasts; MC3T3-E1) on the electroactive poly (vinylidene difluoride) (PVDF)-based composites. The barium titanate (BaTiO BT; 30 wt%) and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT; 3 wt%) were introduced into the PVDF via melt mixing, which led to an enhancement of the dielectric permittivity, electrical conductivity, and surface roughness. We also present the design and development of an in-house customized 12-well plate-based device for providing different types (DC, square, biphasic) of ES to cells in culture in a programmable manner.

Aim: To evaluate cephalometric parameters of orthodontic population in an urban setup in Odisha using Steiner's, Tweed's and Rakosi's analysis and compare it with the established Caucasian norms.

Methodology: Pre-treatment patient records from a dental hospital were collected. Lateral cephalograms of the normal and supernormal sample were traced.

The field of abdominal wall hernias has undergone many innovations. Ventral hernias have conventionally been treated by open on-lay mesh hernioplasty, open retromuscular mesh hernioplasty (Rives-Stoppa procedure) and laparoscopic intraperitoneal mesh hernioplasty. To develop an alternative strategy where a mesh is placed in retromuscular space by minimal access technique of the laparoscopic extended view totally extraperitoneal approach (e-TEP).

The non-systematic evolution of ligands by the exponential enrichment (non-SELEX) method was used in the present study for the selection of β-casomorphin-7 (BCM-7)-specific aptamers. These aptamers were tested to evaluate their ability to detect BCM-7 peptide in the human urine sample. The method did not employ aptamer amplification and counterselection as used in conventional SELEX but included a negative round of selection.

Tosyl activated magnetic beads were used for aptamer selection against PAG- 7 and 18 proteins of bovine origin. PAG proteins were immobilized on beads with further addition of biotin tagged aptamer library. The recognition of aptamers with PAG was identified by ST-HRP based approach which was colorimetric in nature.

To determine real-life biologic/targeted synthetic disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug (b/tsDMARD) retention rates in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), and ankylosing spondylitis (AS), explore reasons for switching and to compare results to previously published data. Time-to-event analysis for mean treatment duration (estimated as the Restricted Mean Survival Time), b/tsDMARD failure, and b/tsDMARDs switching was performed for 230 patients ( = 147 RA, 46 PsA, 37 AS) who commenced their first b/tsDMARD between 2008 and 2018. Patients were managed in a dedicated "biologics" clinic in a tertiary hospital; the choice of b/tsDMARD was clinician driven based on medical factors and patient preferences.

Background: Low conception rate (CR) despite insemination with morphologically normal spermatozoa is a common reproductive restraint that limits buffalo productivity. This accounts for a significant loss to the farmers and the dairy industry, especially in agriculture-based economies. The immune-related proteins on the sperm surface are known to regulate fertility by assisting the spermatozoa in their survival and performance in the female reproductive tract (FRT).
