The advancement in the arena of bone tissue engineering persuades us to develop novel nanocomposite scaffolds in order to improve antibacterial, osteogenic, and angiogenic properties that show resemblance to natural bone extracellular matrix. Here, we focused on the development of novel zinc-doped hydroxyapatite (ZnHAP) nanoparticles (1, 2 and 3 wt%; size: 50-60 nm) incorporated chitosan-gelatin nanocomposite scaffold, with an interconnected porous structure. The addition of ZnHAP nanoparticles decreases the pore size (~30 µm) of the chitosan gelatin scaffold.

There is limited data comparing two gliflozins on their effect on biomarkers in diabetic patients with chronic heart failure. A prospective, multicenter, active controlled, double-arm, investigator-initiated, interventional study enrolled 250 adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and comorbid congestive heart failure (CHF; left ventricular ejection fraction [LVEF] <40%; N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide [NT-proBNP] >600 pg/mL). A comparative assessment of phytoplankton dynamics during low tide (LT) and high tide (HT) was conducted from February 2022 to January 2023 in a tropical mesotidal creek, Manori, Mumbai, India. In total, 124 phytoplankton species were recorded. The HT resulted in greater species richness (124 species) and diversity indices (Shannon-Wiener's index) than the LT (102 species).

This study reports a case of multidrug resistant as the cause of early neonatal sepsis in a term small-for-gestational age neonate weighing 1680 g that successfully responded to voriconazole therapy. Both blood culture and urine culture of the neonate sent on day 4 and day 8 respectively showed Gram positive oval budding yeast cells on Gram staining which was confirmed as susceptible only to voriconazole by Vitek 2 Compact (Biomérieux, France) automated system. Voriconazole was given for fourteen days leading to good clinical response with microbiological clearance of fungus from blood and no side-effects.

The present study assessed the diet characteristics, trophic guild structure, and microplastics (MPs) ingestion by a group of fish sourced from the tidal creeks of the Mumbai coast along the Eastern Arabian Sea. The diet patterns were characterized using gastro-somatic index (GaSI), relative length of gut (RGL), diet overlap (α), diet breadth (B), and relative abundance of food items (%IOP), with a special emphasis on MPs contamination. The findings revealed that teleost and shrimps are the most preferred food items for these species.
