The advancement in the arena of bone tissue engineering persuades us to develop novel nanocomposite scaffolds in order to improve antibacterial, osteogenic, and angiogenic properties that show resemblance to natural bone extracellular matrix. Here, we focused on the development of novel zinc-doped hydroxyapatite (ZnHAP) nanoparticles (1, 2 and 3 wt%; size: 50-60 nm) incorporated chitosan-gelatin nanocomposite scaffold, with an interconnected porous structure. The addition of ZnHAP nanoparticles decreases the pore size (~30 µm) of the chitosan gelatin scaffold.

Time-based surveys often experience missing data due to several reasons, like non-response or data collection limitations. Imputation methods play an essential role in incorporating these missing values to secure the accuracy and reliability of the survey outcomes. This manuscript proposes some optimal class of memory type imputation methods for imputing missing data in time-based surveys by utilizing exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) statistics.

A 42-year-old male patient presented with complaints of vertigo, neck pain, swallowing difficulties, and difficulty in maintaining an upright posture. The patient took allopathic consultation for the complaints and was advised to undergo MDCT scan of brain, hematological and audiological evaluations. No abnormalities were detected in the investigations and he was given some medications for symptomatic management.

A prospective, multicenter, active controlled, double-arm, investigator-initiated, interventional study enrolled 250 adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and comorbid congestive heart failure (CHF; left ventricular ejection fraction [LVEF] <40%; N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide [NT-proBNP] >600 pg/mL). A total of 125 patients were allocated each to a remogliflozin (R) and empagliflozin (E) group and followed up for 24 weeks.

This study reports a case of multidrug resistant as the cause of early neonatal sepsis in a term small-for-gestational age neonate weighing 1680 g that successfully responded to voriconazole therapy. Both blood culture and urine culture of the neonate sent on day 4 and day 8 respectively showed Gram positive oval budding yeast cells on Gram staining which was confirmed as susceptible only to voriconazole by Vitek 2 Compact (Biomérieux, France) automated system. Voriconazole was given for fourteen days leading to good clinical response with microbiological clearance of fungus from blood and no side-effects.

The problem of missingness creates a gap in the information that needs to be addressed before proceeding for estimation. Negligible amount of work has been carried out to deal with missingness utilizing RSS.

The expressions of mean square error (MSE) of the proposed estimators are provided to the order approximation. The efficiency criteria are derived to exhibit the dominance of the proposed estimators.

The diet patterns were characterized using gastro-somatic index (GaSI), relative length of gut (RGL), diet overlap (α), diet breadth (B), and relative abundance of food items (%IOP), with a special emphasis on MPs contamination. The findings revealed that teleost and shrimps are the most preferred food items for these species.

The key compounds responsible for its sweetness includes stevioside and rebaudioside-A. In order to improve these steviol glycosides, the present study was initiated to study the effect of induced mutagenesis on growth parameters, steviol glycosides and nuclear DNA content in Bertoni using ten doses of gamma-rays (5-100 kR).

Unawareness of pregnancy danger signs (DS) has been shown to be a barrier to seeking obstetric care, while app-based education intervention has shown promise.
Objective: We aim to assess patient awareness of DS, identify barriers to awareness, and evaluate potential for implementing smartphone-based technologies for education.
Coronary artery disease (CAD) imposes a significant economic burden in developing countries like India. Timely diagnosis and treatment should be prioritized to mitigate the disease. Current diagnostic tools being invasive and less specific raise the need to develop less invasive and more reliable molecular biomarkers.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFStudy Question: Does the chemokine/chemokine receptor axis, involved in immune cell trafficking, contribute to the pathology of testicular inflammation and how does activin A modulate this network?
Summary Answer: Testicular chemokines and their receptors (especially those essential for trafficking of monocytes) are elevated in orchitis, and activin A modulates the expression of the chemokine/chemokine receptor network to promote monocyte/macrophage and T cell infiltration into the testes, causing extensive tissue damage.
What Is Known Already: The levels of CC motif chemokine receptor (CCR)2 and its ligand CC motif chemokine ligand (CCL)2 are increased in experimental autoimmune orchitis (EAO) compared with healthy testes, and mice deficient in CCR2 are protected from EAO-induced tissue damage. Activin A induces CCR2 expression in macrophages, promoting their migration.
Introduction: Azelnidipine, a selective calcium channel blocker, effectively lowers blood pressure (BP) and heart rate (HR) in hypertensive patients, as demonstrated in a retrospective real-world evidence (RWE) study in Indian patients.
Materials And Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study that included 882 patients aged 18 years or older who had been on azelnidipine treatment for the last 3 months for mild to moderate hypertension (HTN). A structured proforma was utilized to gather data from prescribing physicians to assess the efficacy of azelnidipine (8 and 16 mg) as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensive drugs.
: The Indian Registry on Current Patient Profiles and Treatment Trends in Hypertension (Record) evaluated the current trends and outcomes related to hypertension (HTN) management at 3, 6, 12, and 24 months in India. This study highlights and evaluates the outcomes and trends noted at 24 months. : The detailed study methodology is provided in the earlier publication (interim analysis at 12 months).
