Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine if there is a relationship between clinical outcomes and nickel allergy by evaluating asymptomatic total knee arthroplasty (TKA) patients with well-functioning implants through quantitative metal allergy (MA) testing.

Methods: A prospective case series was performed on 50 patients with well-functioning TKA of various implant types. Inclusion criteria included primary TKA with a minimum 12-month follow-up and Oxford knee score (OKS) ≥ 40.

Isolated Volar Dislocation of the Fifth Carpometacarpal Joint.

Background: This unique presentation of hip swelling is only the seventh reported case of pseudotumor recurrence in a non-metal-on-metal total hip arthroplasty (THA) construct. The constellation of patient symptoms and laboratory findings contradict the expected elevated serum metal ion levels associated with the formation of pseudotumor. The presentation, lab trends, and imaging findings contribute to the growing base of knowledge surrounding the effects of corrosion in arthroplasty constructs with stem-neck modularity.

The trapezoid is the least commonly fractured carpal bone, comprising 4% of all carpal fractures. To date, few articles have been published on isolated trapezoid fractures.
