It explores the etiology, prevalence, clinical features, diagnostic tools and criteria, and treatment options to identify sleep disorders early in the course. The focus is on recent findings related to its efficacy, safety, patient selection, timing, appliance options, cost considerations, and long-term outcomes.
Recent Findings: Recent studies indicate that RPE can lead to significant improvements in pediatric OSA, with a 70% reduction in the Apnea Hypopnea Index (AHI) and increased oxygen saturation levels.
Salmonella is a gram-negative bacterium, subdivided into typhoidal and non-typhoidal Salmonella. It is usually caused by eating raw or undercooked meat, poultry, eggs, or egg products. The clinical manifestations of Salmonella infection can be divided into five syndromes: enterocolitis (food poisoning), enteric (typhoid) fever, bacteremia/septicemia, focal infection, and a chronic carrier state, which is usually asymptomatic.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFDiabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) with coexisting hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute pancreatitis is a rare yet potentially life-threatening condition. This report describes a patient with no history of diabetes who presented with DKA and coexisting acute pancreatitis secondary to severe hypertriglyceridemia. The patient did not respond to standard DKA management or plasmapheresis, developed acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and eventually expired.

With its 10th anniversary in sight, we were interested in analyzing the impact of a specific scholarship given under the SVS, the International Scholars Program. Our goal was to examine the awardees' characteristics and academic productivity.
