Towards that goal, we built a dataset with 2184 images of ten popular dog breeds, grouped into seven similarly sized primal mammalian emotion categories defined by neuroscientist and psychobiologist Jaak Panksepp as 'Exploring', 'Sadness', 'Playing', 'Rage', 'Fear', 'Affectionate' and 'Lust'. Background: Venous thromboembolism risk increases in hospitals due to reduced patient mobility. However, initial mobility evaluations for thromboembolism risk are often subjective and lack standardization, potentially leading to inaccurate risk assessments and insufficient prevention.

Finite element analysis of the interaction between high-compliant balloon catheters and non-cylindrical vessel structures: towards tactile sensing balloon catheters.

Aiming for sensing balloon catheters which are able to provide intraoperative information of the vessel stiffness and shape, the present study uses finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate the interaction between high-compliant elastomer balloon catheters with the inner wall of a non-cylindrical-shaped lumen structure. The contact simulations are based on 3D models with varying balloon thicknesses and varying tissue geometries to analyse the resulting balloon and tissue deformation as well as the inflation pressure dependent contact area. The wrinkled tissue structure is modelled by utilizing a two-layer fibre-based Holzapfel-Gasser-Ogden constitutive model and the model parameters are adapted based on available biomechanical data for human urethral vessel samples.

Comparing Synchronicity in Body Movement among Jazz Musicians with Their Emotions.

This paper presents novel preliminary research that investigates the relationship between the flow of a group of jazz musicians, quantified through multi-person pose synchronization, and their collective emotions. We have developed a real-time software to calculate the physical synchronicity of team members by tracking the difference in arm, leg, and head movements using Lightweight OpenPose. We employ facial expression recognition to evaluate the musicians' collective emotions.

Machine learning (ML)-workflows enable unprejudiced/robust evaluation of complex datasets. Here, we analyzed over 490,000,000 data points to compare 10 different ML-workflows in a large (N=11,652) training dataset of human pancreatic single-cell (sc-)transcriptomes to identify genes associated with the presence or absence of insulin transcript(s). Prediction accuracy/sensitivity of each ML-workflow was tested in a separate validation dataset (N=2,913).
