Aggressive glioma exhibits a poor survival rate. Increased tumor aggression is linked to both tumor cells and tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), which induce pro-aggression, invasion, and metastasis. Imperatively, for effective treatment, it is important to target both glioma cells and TAMs.

This study introduces a multidisciplinary approach combining Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) microspectroscopy and Machine learning to comprehensively characterize and strain-type SARS-CoV-2 variants. FTIR analysis of pharyngeal swabs from different pandemic waves revealed distinct vibrational profiles, particularly in nucleic acid and protein vibrations.

We generated high-quality datasets for 81 samples, including single-cell, single-nuclear, spot-level (Visium) and single-cell resolution (CosMx) spatial-RNA expression and single-nuclear open chromatin, capturing cells from healthy, diabetic and hypertensive diseased human kidneys. Combining these data, we identify cell types and map them to their locations within the tissue.

Hence, an investigation was carried out to find out epidemiological and entomological reasons behind the outbreak.
Methods: An entomological survey was carried out in 24 wards of Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC) area, epidemiological data of last six years (January-December 2017-2021 and January-October 2022) and patient details of the year 2022 were collected.

Aims: There is evidence that proper radiotherapy trial quality assurance (RTTQA) translates into improved outcomes for patients. However, the practice of RTTQA is heterogeneous and implemented in a diverse manner across trials. In this paper, we review the RTTQA report for randomised trials (RCT) conducted in India and present our experience with RTTQA for various clinical trials and highlight the key achievements and challenges.

Metabolic information from 18 fluro-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography combined with contrast-enhanced computerized tomography (FDG PET-CT) may potentially augment treatment decision-making for LACC. This study ascertained FDG-PET CT influence on chemoradiation therapy (CTRT) decisions in LACC.

Tumor response grade (TRG) is a mandatory reporting criterion in most guidelines. One of the most commonly used TRG systems is the modified Ryan system.

Methods: Retrospective data of 116 patients treated with a daily dose of 3.6-3.
Oxindoles are potent anti-cancer agents and are also used against microbial and fungal infections and for treating neurodegenerative diseases. These oxindoles are earlier established as estrogen receptor (ER)-targeted agents for killing ER (+) cancer cells. Our previously developed bis-arylidene oxindole, Oxifen (OXF) exhibits effective targeting towards ER (+) cancer cells which has a structural resemblance with tamoxifen.

Here, we devised a method to detect cell transplants immediately post-transplant, using a clinical gadolinium-based contrast agent. These cells were detected as hyperintense signals using a clinically familiar T1-weighted MRI protocol.

The Royal College of Radiologists recommends peer review specifically for individual target volumes in cases of gynaecological cancers. This study presents the outcomes of implementing an on-demand peer review system for gynaecological cancers within our institute.

Genetic exchange can occur among natural Leishmania populations and hybrids can now be produced experimentally, with limitations. Feeding Phlebotomus orientalis or Phlebotomus argentipes on two strains of Leishmania donovani yielded hybrid progeny, selected using double drug resistance and fluorescence markers.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a clinically approved, non-invasive alternate cancer therapy. A synthetic glucocorticoid (GC), dexamethasone (Dex) has previously been demonstrated to sensitize cancer cells to chemotherapy. However, to the best of our knowledge, the sensitization effect of GCs on PDT has not yet been investigated.

This paper focuses on a novel strategy based on single molecule spectroscopy and single molecule localization microscopy to elucidate the photostability and localization of a fluorophore molecule on a 2D biomembrane. Improvement of in-plane resolution of a signal in a nano-dimension within the diffraction limit has been discussed in a new way.

Given this interplay, the causative regulatory events in the modulation of gene expression remain unknown for the vast majority of genes. We utilized deeply sequenced ATAC-Seq data and site-specific knock-in reporter genes to investigate the relationship between the binding-site resolution dynamics of DNA accessibility and the expression dynamics of the enhancers of Cebpa during macrophage-neutrophil differentiation.

Background: Robust physical mobility is the key to healthy independent aging. Although the association between socioeconomic status and health is well documented, it is unclear whether there is a relationship between mobility and income, because income data are not readily available.
Questions/purposes: (1) Do individuals with better mobility have higher incomes? (2) Does maintaining mobility over time allow individuals to keep working? (3) Is exercise associated with higher mobility over time?
Methods: We obtained longitudinal income and health data from the nationally representative Health and Retirement Study.
While most of the reports on NH gas sensors are either based on metal oxide composites with other 2D materials, polymers or noble metals or involve multi-step-based synthesis routes, this work is the first report on a pristine ternary metal oxide, 2D NiCoZnO nanoflake based room-temperature (RT) NH gas sensor. The 2D NiCoZnO nanoflakes were prepared by a one-step hydrothermal method. FESEM and TEM images displayed micro-flower like morphologies, containing vertically aligned interwoven porous 2D nanoflakes, whereas XPS and XRD data confirmed the successful growth of this ternary metal-oxide.

Existing COVID-19 diagnostic approaches face limitations either in terms of turnaround time or accuracy. In this study, we present an electrochemical biosensor that offers nearly instantaneous and precise SARS-CoV-2 detection, suitable for point-of-care and environmental monitoring applications.

Most patients have somatic, mosaic mutations in MAP2K1 (encoding the MEK1 protein) in osteoblasts and overlying skin. As with most rare bone diseases, lack of affected tissue has limited the opportunity to understand how the mutation results in excess bone formation.

In this work, a series of biocompatible hydrogels have been synthesized by silver ion-driven self-assembly of natural nucleoside and nucleotide-like cytidine and 5'-GMP.
