Cellular mechanical dysregulation can lead to diseases and conditions like tumorigenesis. Plasmablastic multiple myeloma (MM) is a rare and highly aggressive variant of MM that presents significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. This variant is characterised by a bone marrow infiltration of ≥2% plasmablasts and is distinguished by its atypical pleomorphic morphology, unique immunohistological profile and extensive extramedullary involvement. The anaplastic features of plasmablastic MM can closely mimic those of high-grade lymphomas, leukaemia, non-haematopoietic malignancies and high-grade carcinomas, often leading to initial diagnostic errors.

Fine touch perception is often correlated to material properties and friction coefficients, but the inherent variability of human motion has led to low correlations and contradictory findings. Instead, we hypothesized that humans use frictional instabilities to discriminate between objects. The rice, like other plants, undergoes photoprotection mode by increasing nonphotochemical quenching (NPQ) in high light intensity (> 1200 µmol ms PPFD), which attenuates photosystem II yield (φPSII) drastically. The plant remains in photoprotection mode even after light intensity becomes not stressful for an extended period. While there are significant differences in the time it takes for photoprotection to recover among different genotypes, its use is limited in plant breeding because measuring the chlorophyll fluorescence parameters in progressive actinic light after dark adaptation takes more than forty-five minutes per genotype.

The contribution of mica mining activities to fluoride (F) contamination in groundwater has been chased in this study. For the purpose, groundwater samples (n = 40, replicated thrice) were collected during the post-monsoons (September-October) from a mica mining area in the Tisri block of Giridih district, Jharkhand. The study has employed a synergy of classical aquifer chemistry, statistical approaches, different indices, Self-Organising Maps (SOM), and Sobol sensitivity index (SSI) to unveil the underlying aquifer chemistry, identify the impacts of mining activities on groundwater quality and its associated health hazard.

The 5d^{1} ordered double perovskites present an exotic playground for studying novel multipolar physics due to large spin-orbit coupling. We present Re L_{3} edge resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) results that reveal the presence of the dynamic Jahn-Teller effect in the A_{2}MgReO_{6} (A=Ca, Sr, Ba) family of 5d^{1} double perovskites. The spin-orbit excitations in these materials show a strongly asymmetric line shape and exhibit substantial temperature dependence, indicating that they are dressed with lattice vibrations.

The study assessed the ecotoxicity and bioavailability of potential metals (PMs) from tannery waste sludge, alongside addressing the environmental concerns of overuse of chemical fertilizers, by comparing the impacts of organic vermicomposted tannery waste, chemical fertilizers, and sole application of tannery waste on soil and rice (Oryza sativa L.) plants. The results revealed that T3, which received high-quality vermicomposted tannery waste as an amendment, exhibited superior enzymatic characteristics compared to tannery sludge amended (TWS) treatments (T8, T9).
