Background And Objective: The hip joint is the vital joint that is responsible for the bodyweight transfer from the upper body to the lower body. Due to age these joints are worn out and need to be replaced by artificial hip implants. Wear is the predominant factor that is responsible for the loosening of hip implants.

To increase data availability on the epidemiology of Zika virus circulation in Africa, we evaluated the immunity to Zika virus in a selected cohort of subjects from West Africa between 2007 and 2012. Human serum samples were collected in 2007 and in 2011/2012 from a cohort of 2-29-year-old subjects from Mali, Senegal, and The Gambia.

The objective of this study is to compare the outcome of two-stage Bracka and Byar's repair in proximal hypospadias.
Materials And Methods: This study was conducted from January 2013 to February 2018 in a tertiary care centre.
A heterostructure of WS/WO·HO has been prepared by partial oxidation of WS nanosheets by exposing bulk WS micron powder to ultrasonic waves in a bath sonicator. The as-prepared nanomaterial was used as a sensing film in an interdigitated electrode-based gas detecting device. The device was found to be specific towards ammonia gas among a group oxidizing and reducing gases.

Materials And Methods: RWPE1, PWR1E and DU 145 cells were used.
A 43-year-old woman presented with a right-sided visual field defect in the right eye. The visual acuity was normal and there was a right relative afferent pupillary defect. Formal visual field testing revealed a junctional scotoma of Traquair.

Components shared between signaling pathways, generally thought to decrease specificity, paradoxically can also provide a solution to pathway coordination. Here we show that the Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMP) and Wnt signaling pathways share Apcdd1 as a common inhibitor and that Apcdd1 is a taxon-restricted gene with novel domains and signaling functions.

We report on a chemiresistive gas sensor using boron nanostructures as the sensing layer, to detect methane gas down to 50 ppm. The sensor showed an excellent response of 43.5-153.

HSR is, however, confronted with failures besides there are still a number of patients who primarily undergo surgical intervention for the management of intussusception. We undertook this study to assess the efficacy of HSR and also to look for factors demanding the surgical exploration in patients with intussusception.

The binary system containing PSR J1141-6545 includes a massive white dwarf (WD) companion that formed before the gravitationally bound young radio pulsar. We observed a temporal evolution of the orbital inclination of this pulsar that we infer is caused by a combination of a Newtonian quadrupole moment and Lense-Thirring (LT) precession of the orbit resulting from rapid rotation of the WD.

The present study was carried out to evaluate the effect of addition of tomato powder (2 & 4/100 g of flour) and crude lycopene (50 & 100 mg/100 g of flour), which have potent antioxidant activity, on the nutritional quality and shelf life of cookies prepared from whole wheat flour. Color values i.

In mice lacking one allele of PDGFRβ (PDGFRβ), previous reports have described an age-dependent loss of pericytes in the brain, leading to cerebrovascular dysfunction and subsequent neurodegeneration reminiscent of that seen in Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia. We examined 12-20-month-old PDGFRβ mice to better understand how pericyte loss affects brain microvascular structure and perfusion in vivo.

Kuwait is a semi-arid region with soils that are relatively nitrogen-poor. Thus, biological nitrogen fixation is an important natural process in which N2-fixing bacteria (diazotrophs) convert atmospheric nitrogen into plant-usable forms such as ammonium and nitrate. Currently, there is limited information on free-living and root-associated nitrogen-fixing bacteria and their potential to fix nitrogen and aid natural plant communities in the Kuwait desert.

The Indian Society of Gastroenterology developed this evidence-based practice guideline for management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in adults. A modified Delphi process was used to develop this consensus containing 58 statements, which were generated by electronic voting iteration as well as face-to-face meeting and review of the supporting literature primarily from India. These statements include 10 on epidemiology, 8 on clinical presentation, 10 on investigations, 23 on treatment (including medical, endoscopic, and surgical modalities), and 7 on complications of GERD.

Eukaryotic initiation factor 4E(eIF4E), the mRNA cap-binding protein, has emerged as a key player to facilitate tumor progression through upregulated cap-dependent translation synchronized with enhanced cell division. We provide evidence that eIF4E phosphorylation is regulated by mTORC1 by virtue of its interaction with Raptor through a novel TPTPNPP motif and consequent phosphorylation invitro and in vivo in a Rapamycin-sensitive manner.
