Purpose: Ulnar Longitudinal Deficiency (ULD) is a sporadic congenital difference affecting the upper-limb. There is a lack of information on this condition in the Indian subcontinent population, hence the importance of documenting ULD in this region and highlighting the novelty. This retrospective case-series aimed to describe the manifestations of ULD and document its unique presentation pattern in the South Asian population.

Mirror hand-ulnar dimelia (MHUD) is rare congenital disorder with a wide range of clinical and radiographic features. The current nomenclature is confusing and the existing classification systems focus mainly on morphology without providing much guidance for treatment. The goal of this study was to review the clinical and radiological features in 13 children with MHUD that were treated at a single institution.

Methods: In this case-control study, 117 students with thumb pain associated with text messaging were evaluated clinically and with ultrasound analysis of the thumb. Age- and sex-matched controls received ultrasound evaluation to note any subclinical changes.
The principle aim in complex defects in hand is to restore a functioning tripod pinch. Among the various options, the use of locally available spare parts offers to improve both functions and cosmetics. 10 patients underwent surgeries to restore tripod pinch using this concept of spare parts.

Background: Thumbs are commonly used for text messaging, which are not as well designed for fine manipulative or dexterous work. Repetitive use as in text messaging can lead to the injury to the tendons of the thumb.
One of the most difficult and intricate surgeries in the field of hand surgery is that of Pollicization. It involves transfer of one of the fingers to create a new functioning thumb when it is absent. This elegant surgical technique has evolved over the 100 years from a simple, though unaesthetic transposition of digits to a complex procedure which demands an intelligent use of skin flaps, osteotomy and muscle balancing to create an almost normal looking aesthetic thumb.

Purpose: To assess the effectiveness of a turnbuckle orthosis as a means of improving the range of motion in patients with elbow stiffness.
Methods: 17 males and 11 females aged 8 to 68 (mean, 32) years underwent static progressive stretching using a turnbuckle orthosis for elbow stiffness secondary to trauma or surgery. Patients were instructed to wear the orthosis during the daytime for a mean of 15 hours and remove it during sleep as well as at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
