Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the clinical presentation, treatment outcomes, and histopathology features of ocular surface squamous neoplasia (OSSN) in a South Indian population and correlate the area of lesions to the histopathological grade/severity of carcinoma in situ (CIN) and squamous cell carcinoma (SqCC) invasive and noninvasive tumors.
Methods: The study was a retrospective cross-sectional study. The study reviewed electronic medical records (EMRs) of 99 eyes of 99 South Indian patients who underwent en bloc excision and biopsy for tumors in the corneal and conjunctival epithelium with suspicion of OSSN over 1 year from January 2019 to December 2019.
Background: Perceptual visual impairment leads to impaired functional vision in children with cerebral visual impairment. Yoked prisms have been used in behavioral vision therapy for children with autism (dysfunctional dorsal visual processing pathway) and in neurorehabilitation to treat visual neglect, hemianopia, and abnormal egocentric localization. Methods: The study utilized a one-group pretest-posttest design. A total of 50 individuals aged 15 years and older with VI participated in the training, which included special software (NVDA) and mobile app training for 60 hours at the Visual Rehabilitation Center.
Purpose: To understand/assess ocular and functional vision impairment in children with multiple disabilities with a functional vision assessment battery in addition to standard ophthalmic examinations in an outreach setting.
Methods: Seven schools for children with special needs, 243 children in total, were screened for ocular disorders and functional vision impairment through school camps.
Results: Among them, 37% had refractive errors needing spectacle correction.
Purpose: Owing to the paucity of literature on Indian children with periventricular leukomalacia (PVL), this retrospective study aimed to describe the visual and associated developmental abnormalities in a series of affected children attending a tertiary level eye care facility.
