Management of corneal perforation depends on the size, location and cause of the lesion. Smaller perforations can be managed with tissue adhesives (TAs), amniotic membrane transplantation or Tenon's patch graft (TPG). Tenon's capsule is an autologous transplant and, as such, does not require to be supplied by an eye bank support.

Cefotaxime and ceftriaxone are two prominent third-generation cephalosporin antibiotics, which are a class of antimicrobial agents with overlapping antibacterial spectra and therapeutic indications, commonly used in treating severe bacterial infections, including meningitis, sepsis, and respiratory tract infections. Despite their shared antibacterial coverage, these antibiotics differ significantly in their pharmacokinetic characteristics such as half-life, protein binding, and tissue penetration. This comprehensive review systematically compares the pharmacokinetic profiles, pharmacological attributes, clinical efficacy, and safety profiles of cefotaxime and ceftriaxone.

We report a case of a woman in her 30s who underwent femtosecond LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) in both eyes to correct her simple myopic astigmatism. After the surgery, both eyes developed diffuse lamellar keratitis, and intensive topical steroids were initiated to control the same. Subsequently, central toxic keratopathy (CTK) developed bilaterally.

Background: In manual small incision cataract surgery (MSICS), the occurrence of intraoperative complications is a recognized concern that can impact both surgical outcomes and patient safety. MSICS is widely practiced as a cost-effective alternative for cataract extraction, especially in resource-limited settings where access to phacoemulsification may be limited. However, it is important to acknowledge that MSICS is not entirely risk-free.

  • Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are essential for health, but an imbalance is linked to chronic diseases like cancer; alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) shows promise as an anticancer agent.
  • Researchers used network pharmacology and molecular docking to uncover ALA's potential molecular targets, identifying 51 targets and pinpointing 10 key ones involved in cancer-related epigenetic modification.
  • ALA demonstrated strong binding with several key targets, suggesting it may act through multiple signaling pathways related to cancer development, including transcription regulation and cellular aging.

Background: There are many different types of malocclusions that may result from the sagittal, vertical, or transverse deviations in normal craniofacial development. When it comes to orthodontic problems, malocclusions in the sagittal plane may have a considerable impact on a person's self-esteem as well as their ability to speak and eat properly. Sagittal anomalies in the skeletal, dental, and soft tissue systems may now be accurately diagnosed using a universally accepted standard lateral cephalogram (SLCE).
