QSAR, an efficient and successful approach for optimizing lead compounds in drug design, was employed to study a reported series of compounds derived from 2,4,6-trimethoxy chalcone derivatives. The ability of these compounds to inhibit CDK1 was examined, with the help of QSARINS software for model development. The generated QSAR model revealed three significant descriptors, exhibiting strong correlations with impressive statistical values: cross-validation leave-one-out correlation coefficient (LOO) = 0.

This article provides PCR based Inter-Simple Sequence Repeat (ISSR) and HPLC datasets of 106 individual samples of collected from various geographical ranges of the Western Ghats of India.

These drug-resistant microbes (or superbugs) are non-responsive to most of the commonly used antibiotics leaving us with few treatment options and escalating mortality-rates and treatment costs. The problem is further aggravated by the drying-pipeline of new and potent antibiotics effective particularly against the drug-resistant strains.

De Wilde (Caesalpiniaceae) is a highly traded IUCN red listed tree species used in Ayurvedic medicines for the treatment of various disorders, especially gynaecological problems. However, information about the genetic variations between populations and corresponding variation in specialized metabolites of S.

Unlabelled: Pulmonary embolism (PE) is an important cause of morbidity and mortality among hospitalized patients. Although the exact epidemiology of PE is not known in India, Some of the studies show that more frequently it is missed and not managed appropriately leading to significant cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Justification and purpose: Indian guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of acute PE are not yet formulated.

The present study was undertaken to develop barcodes for different species of the genus Dalbergia, an economically important timber plant and is widely distributed in the tropics. Ten Dalbergia species selected from the Western Ghats of India were evaluated using three regions in the plastid genome (matK, rbcL, trnH-psbA), a nuclear transcribed spacer (nrITS) and their combinations, in order to discriminate them at species level.

Viable one- and two-factor solutions were cross-validated. Both first factors overlapped significantly and were labeled "Embracing African Heritage.

Using the 881 bp sequence of cytosolic Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase gene, we detected 24 haplotypes among 195 individuals sampled from 14 populations. Two dominant haplotypes were distributed over the entire range of this species in India and several private haplotypes were found.

Treatment is usually multimodal. Potent anti-monocyte as well as immunomodulatory activity of 2-CDA and its proven efficacy in many lymphoproliferative disorders has made 2-CDA a rational choice in treatment of LCH.

Aim: To present the experience of management of LCH at a single institution.
Advances in cancer management have resulted in a significant increase in median survival of number of diseases. Consequently we are seeing more patients living long enough to develop symptomatic brain metastases. The management of such patients will be discussed here.

Rituximab has been used extensively in lymphoproliferative disorders. We evaluated the results of 64 consecutive patients treated between 2001 and 2004 at our institution. This included 54 males and 10 females.

With use of aggressive chemotherapy which includes intermediate or high dose methotrexate, the incidence of testicular relapses has declined. However once these patients have received cranial irradiation as a part of the front line protocol, high dose methotrexate needs to be avoided because of risk of developing leucoencephalopathy.

By virtue of being chemosensitive, they are amenable to cure by chemotherapy alone and radical surgery is often not required. Yolk sac tumors occurring in the vagina are rare and thus may not be recognized early or may be inadvertently subjected to radical surgery.

With better understanding of the biology of the disease, and routine use of high-dose cytarabine as post-remission therapy with or without haematopoietic blood stem cell transplantation (HSCT), the results have improved in the past two decades. We analysed our results in a cohort of recently treated patients.
