Purpose: The present study aimed to investigate the value of calprotectin and other inflammatory parameters in patients with glaucoma and systemic diseases accompanying pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PEX-S).
Methods: This prospective study included 45 PEX-S patients and 45 non-PEX control patients. Patients were investigated for the presence of glaucoma, cardiovascular disease (CVD), ischemic brain disease (IBD), Alzheimer's disease, and neurosensory hearing loss (NSHL).
Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the macular pigment optical density (MPOD) scores in eyes with hyperopic anisometropic amblyopia and compare those with their fellow and control eyes using one-wavelength fundus reflectometry.
Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled 33 patients diagnosed with hyperopic anisometropic amblyopia aged 12-40 years. The control group consisted of 36 hyperopic and 42 emmetropic children, age-matched to the patients.
Objectives: To compare the functional and anatomical outcomes of ranibizumab and aflibercept monotherapies given according to a pro re nata (PRN) protocol in treatment-naive eyes with diabetic macular edema (DME) in a real-life clinical setting.
Materials And Methods: The medical charts of treatment-naive patients with center-involved DME retrieved from our institutional database were reviewed in this retrospective cohort study. A total of 512 treatment-naive eyes with DME underwent either ranibizumab (Group I; 308 eyes) or aflibercept (Group II; 204 eyes) monotherapy and 462 patients were included.
Purpose: To elucidate whether wide-field fluorescein angiography (WFFA) can yield additional information in patients with newly diagnosed idiopathic acute anterior uveitis (AAU).
Methods: The WFFA was performed in patients with idiopathic AAU, and the findings were analyzed according to the scoring system by Angiography Scoring for Uveitis Nomenclature.
Results: Forty-four eyes of 30 patients (22 eyes of 13 patients in the pediatric group and 22 eyes of 17 patients in the adult group) were studied.
Introduction The aim of this study is to determine the characteristics of eye-related emergency department (ED) visits resulting in ophthalmology consultation during the COVID-19 pandemic and compare them against an equivalent period from the previous year. Methods In this study, we reviewed the charts of patients who were admitted to ED with ocular complaints between March 11th, 2020 (the date of the first COVID-positive case in our country) and March 11th, 2021 (Study period 1; SP1) and those who were admitted to ED within the equivalent period of the previous year (Study period 2; SP2). The frequency of eye-related cases, the urgency status of complaints, diagnosis, treatment applied, and hospitalization status of the patients were compared.

: To report a case of bilateral acute iris transillumination (BAIT) in association with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).: A 44-year-old woman patient presented with decreased visual acuity, pain, photophobia, and redness in both eyes. The patient reported that she had recent close contact with severe acute respiratory syndrome - coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) case; also, she mentioned that she was hospitalized for bilateral pneumonia for 14 days.

Methods: Sixty-three eyes of 63 patients with superotemporal BRVO treated either with intravitreal dexamethasone implant (DEX group, = 31) or ranibizumab (RNB group, = 32) were prospectively enrolled. Swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography 6 × 6 mm scans of the superficial capillary plexus (SCP) and deep capillary plexus (DCP) in all eyes were analyzed.

Materials And Methods: The medical records of patients receiving anti-VEGF treatment for nAMD between January 2015 and March 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. Preoperative and postoperative routine ophthalmological examinations, central macular thickness, duration of inflammation, and follow-up time of the patients with non-infectious IOI following anti-VEGF injection were recorded.
