The bile salts and phospholipids are secreted by the gallbladder to form dietary mixed micelles in which the solvation of poorly absorbed lipophilic drugs and nutraceuticals take place. A comprehensive understanding of the micellization and structure of the mixed micelles are crucial to design effective delivery systems for such substances. In this study, the evolution of the dietary mixed micelle formation under physiologically relevant concentrations and the dependence of structural properties on micelle size were investigated through coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations.

Effects of microwave assisted hydrodistillation (MAHD) and conventional hydrodistillation (HD) methods on yield, composition, specific gravity, refractive index, and antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of essential oil of Rosmarinus officinalis L were studied. The main aroma compounds of rosemary essential oil were found as 1,8-cineole and camphor. Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC) values for essential oils extracted by MAHD and HD were 1.

We have performed detailed molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the effects of solvation and confinement on the structure of polystyrene (PS) oligomers in four different environments, melt, concentrated solution, dilute solution and confined concentrated solution at 450 K and 1 bar, respectively. Local packing of the monomers and the solvent (toluene, good solvent) molecules were monitored by means of radial distribution functions (RDFs). We have also investigated bond, angle, and dihedral angle distributions of the monomers.
