Obstetric intensive care admissions: a 12-year review in a tertiary care centre.

Objective: To review all pregnant women who required admission to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) during pregnancy, childbirth or puerperium.

Study Design: Retrospective follow-up study in a tertiary care centre in The Netherlands. The files of all obstetric ICU admissions over the period 1990-2001 were reviewed.

Safety of intravenous administration of a canarypox virus encoding the human wild-type p53 gene in colorectal cancer patients.

Overexpression of p53 occurs in more than 50% of colorectal cancers. Therefore, p53 represents an attractive target antigen for immunotherapy. We assessed the safety of a canarypox virus encoding the human wild-type p53 gene given intravenously to end-stage colorectal cancer patients in a three-step dose escalation study aimed at inducing p53 immune responses.
