School and university can be stressful contexts that can become an important source of identity threats when social prejudices or stereotypes come into play. Self-affirmation interventions are key strategies for mitigating the negative consequences of identity threat. This meta-analysis aims to provide an overview of the effectiveness of self-affirmation interventions in educational settings.

Long-Term Follow-Up in Patients With Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Treated With Ponatinib in a Real-World Cohort: Safety and Efficacy Analysis.

Background: Ponatinib is a third-generation tyrosine-kinase inhibitor (TKI), indicated in patients with chronic phase (CP), accelerated phase (AP), or blast phase (BP) chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), who are resistant or intolerant to ≥2 prior TKIs, patients for whom subsequent treatment with imatinib is not appropriate, and patients who have a T315I mutation.

Patients And Methods: We aimed to evaluate outcomes of ponatinib treatment, including safety, with focus on cardiovascular toxicity, in real-world patients from Argentina. Data from patients with CP CML treated with ponatinib was retrospectively retrieved from 2013 to 2023 in 7 centers.

Defining recovery in schizophrenia: A review of outcome studies.

Schizophrenia is a chronic disorder with a heterogenous course and different ways in which recovery is measured or perceived. Recovery in schizophrenia is a complex process that it can be defined either from a clinical perspective focused on sustained symptom and functional remission, or from a patient-focused one, as a self-broadening process aimed at living a meaningful life beyond mental illness. Until now, studies analysed these domains separately, without examining their mutual relations and changes over time.

Time After Time: Attachment Orientations and Impression Formation in Initial and Longer-Term Team Interactions.

If securely attached individuals typically exhibit more desirable attributes, can insecure individuals be perceived positively when working in teams despite their interpersonal disadvantages? In an exploratory study, using both a vignette based experimental research design ( = 636) and a round-robin study of professionals working on a team task for nine consecutive weeks ( = 648), we examined the evolving impressions of insecurely attached individuals over time. We find that while anxiously attached individuals are perceived more positively in initial interactions, this initial positive effect for anxious attachment disappeared over time as individuals within teams gained more relational knowledge about their team members. We also found a stable and negative effect of avoidant attachment.

Interim report: Safety and immunogenicity of an inactivated vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 in healthy chilean adults in a phase 3 clinical trial.

Background: The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact worldwide, with an incommensurable social and economic burden. The rapid development of safe and protective vaccines against this disease is a global priority. CoronaVac is a vaccine prototype based on inactivated SARS-CoV-2, which has shown promising safety and immunogenicity profiles in pre-clinical studies and phase 1/2 trials in China.

The induction of trained immunity represents an emerging concept defined as the ability of innate immune cells to acquire a memory phenotype, which is a typical hallmark of the adaptive response. Key points modulated during the establishment of trained immunity include epigenetic, metabolic and functional changes in different innate-immune and non-immune cells. Regarding to epigenetic changes, it has been described that long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) act as molecular scaffolds to allow the assembly of chromatin-remodeling complexes that catalyze epigenetic changes on chromatin.

Antibiotics have played a critical role in sustaining and improving livestock production in the past decades, but the emergence of antimicrobial resistance has led several countries to ban or limit their use. Since then, in-feed alternatives have gained a lot of attention but the development of efficacious alternatives implies a better understanding of the mode of action of antibiotic growth promoters (AGP) when administered at subtherapeutic concentrations. In the present study, 120 broiler chickens per group (8 pens/group) were fed for 35 d with either basal feed (control group) or feed supplemented with avilamycin (AGP group; 10 g/1,000 kg of feed).

Experiencing mixed emotions, a combination of two oppositely-valenced emotions, has been shown to reduce bias in decision making and improve the accuracy of judgements made. However, most previous research has been limited to laboratory-based experiments. In this pre-registered study, we looked at mixed emotions and judgements in the naturalistic context of watching sport during the FIFA world cup.

Number of Remaining Teeth and Its Association with Educational Level in Chilean Adults: Data from the National Health Survey 2016-2017.

Introduction: Several population studies have addressed oral health inequalities. Edentulism, functional dentition, and number of remaining teeth have been associated with different socioeconomic level measurements. The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between educational level and tooth loss in the Chilean population aged 15 years and above, based on the 2016-2017 National Health Survey (ENS 2016-2017).

The Role of Dendritic Cells During Infections Caused by Highly Prevalent Viruses.

Dendritic cells (DCs) are a type of innate immune cells with major relevance in the establishment of an adaptive response, as they are responsible for the activation of lymphocytes. Since their discovery, several reports of their role during infectious diseases have been performed, highlighting their functions and their mechanisms of action. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of an organic acid-based feed additive (OAFA), containing a blend of OA and cinnamaldehyde, on the tissue integrity of bacterially challenged piglets.

Forecasting Patient Discharge Before Noon: A Comparison Between Holt's and Box-Jenkins' Models.

Background: The uncertainty and ambiguity of not knowing how many patients will be discharged impact patient throughput in hospitals, causing concerns for responding to demand for admissions. Understanding the potential number of patients to be discharged can support caregivers, ability to concentrate on the range of interactions that patients require to ensure early discharge. Accurate forecasting of patients expected to be discharged by noon is beneficial in accommodating patients who need services and in achieving sustainable patient satisfaction.

Affective experiences can fluctuate, be combined, and fused, resulting in various phenomena labeled as being emotionally complex. Despite the lack of a common theoretical framework, several phenomena including mixed emotions, emodiversity, meta-emotions, awe, among several others, have been defined as being emotionally complex. In this conceptual analysis, I aim to integrate the diversity of emotional complexity by describing various phenomena associated with this construct.

Objective: Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is a common disorder in older adults producing functional impairment, and psychotherapy is the preferred treatment option. Meta-analytic methods sought to determine the efficacy of outpatient cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with respect to the hallmark feature of GAD-uncontrolled and excessive worry. In order to optimize clinical applicability, variables associated with GAD treatment outcomes were also examined.
