Key Clinical Message: The presence of multiple pseudoaneurysms in a patient should prompt investigations for the underlying etiologies including autoimmune and immunosuppressive disease processes. Treatment options include open repair and endovascular stenting.

Abstract: Pseudoaneurysms (also known as false aneurysms) are atypical dilatations or outpouchings from a vessel which are not always contained by the three layers of a normal vessel wall, namely the intima, media, and adventitia.

Anxiety and Depressive Symptoms and Cortical Amyloid-β Burden in Cognitively Unimpaired Older Adults.

Background: There is evidence of relationships between behavioral symptoms and increased risk for Alzheimer's Disease and/or Alzheimer's Disease biomarkers. However, the nature of this relationship is currently unknown.

Recruitment and retention of participant and study partner dyads in two multinational Alzheimer's disease registration trials.

Background: Early study exit is detrimental to statistical power and increases the risk for bias in Alzheimer's disease clinical trials. Previous analyses in early phase academic trials demonstrated associations between rates of trial incompletion and participants' study partner type, with participants enrolling with non-spouse study partners being at greater risk.

Methods: We conducted secondary analyses of two multinational phase III trials of semagacestat, an oral gamma secretase inhibitor, for mild-to-moderate AD dementia.

Education and Message Framing Increase Willingness to Undergo Research Lumbar Puncture: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Reluctance to undergo lumbar puncture (LP) is a barrier to neurological disease biomarker research. We assessed whether an educational intervention increased willingness to consider research LP and whether message framing modified intervention effectiveness. We randomly assigned 851 recruitment registry enrollees who had previously indicated they were unwilling to be contacted about studies requiring LP to gain or loss framed video educational interventions describing the procedure and the probability of experiencing adverse events.

Reinterpreting the infrared spectrum of H + HCN: Methylene amidogen radical and its coproducts.

The methylene amidogen radical (HCN) plays a role in high-energy material combustion and extraterresterial atmospheres. Recent theoretical work has struggled to match experimental assignments for its CN and antisymmetric CH stretching frequencies (ν and ν), which were reported to occur at 1725 and 3103 cm. Herein, we compute the vibrational energy levels of this molecule by extrapolating quadruples-level coupled-cluster theory to the complete basis limit and adding corrections for vibrational anharmonicity.

Fluorescent pseudorotaxanes of a quinodicarbocyanine dye with gamma cyclodextrin.

Spectrophotometric titration of buffered solutions of gamma cyclodextrin (γCD) and 1,1'-diethyl,2,2'-dicarbocyanine (DDI) demonstrates extension of the known 1:2 host:guest complex to form a previously unreported 2:2 complex near the γCD solubility limit. Though DDI is predominantly hosted as a non-fluorescent H-aggregate, both complexes exist in respective equilibria with two secondary complexes hosting unaggregated DDI as 1:1 and 2:1 complexes. The 2:1 complex exhibits significant fluorescence emission, with a quantum yield six times that of DDI in organic solvents, but ten times lower than that of an analogous indodicarbocyanine.

Randomized Trial Comparing Radiologic Pigtail Gastrostomy and Peroral Image-Guided Gastrostomy: Intra- and Postprocedural Pain, Radiation Exposure, Complications, and Quality of Life.

Purpose: To prospectively compare radiologically created pigtail gastrostomy (PG), in which the tube is inserted directly through the abdominal wall, versus peroral image-guided gastrostomy (POG), in which the tube is inserted through the mouth. Pain profiles (primary outcome measure), fluoroscopy times, total room times, technical success, complications, and quality of life (QOL) were measured.

Materials And Methods: Sixty patients were prospectively randomized to receive 14-F PG or 20-F POG tubes.

Acute arteriovenous access failure: long-term outcomes of endovascular salvage and assessment of co-variates affecting patency.

Aims: This study reports long-term outcomes after endovascular salvage (EVS) for acute dialysis fistula/graft dysfunction.

Methods: All patients presenting with acute fistula or graft dysfunction, excluding primary failures, referred for endovascular salvage were included in this single-centre prospective study.

Results: Altogether, 410 procedures were carried out in 232 patients.

An improvement in technical success rates due to the availability of newer devices has fuelled an increased interest in the subject. The pathogenesis, indications for treatment, and outcome measures of infrapopliteal disease differ from larger vessel intervention.

Workplace bullying and psychotropic drug use: the mediating role of physical and mental health status.

Objectives: The association between workplace bullying and psychotropic drug use is not well established. This study was aimed at exploring the association between workplace bullying, and its characteristics, and psychotropic drug use and studying the mediating role of physical and mental health.

Methods: The study population consisted of a random sample of 3132 men and 4562 women of the working population in the south-east of France.

Workplace bullying and sleep disturbances: findings from a large scale cross-sectional survey in the French working population.

Study Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore the associations between workplace bullying, the characteristics of workplace bullying, and sleep disturbances in a large sample of employees of the French working population.

Design: Workplace bullying, evaluated using the validated instrument developed by Leymann, and sleep disturbances, as well as covariates, were measured using a self-administered questionnaire. Covariates included age, marital status, presence of children, education, occupation, working hours, night work, physical and chemical exposures at work, self-reported health, and depressive symptoms.

Dumping following partial gastrectomy.

The incidence of dumping has varied from 1 to 75% in a number of reported series. The discrepancy probably depends mainly on different definitions of the dumping syndrome. In the present work, the clinical diagnostic index (CDI) first proposed by Sigstad in 1968, has been used in a follow-up study of 241 patients after gastric resection for ulcer disease.
