Depression is a serious public health problem that often emerges during adolescence. Many adolescents do not respond to standard treatments, necessitating the development of novel interventions. We conducted a preliminary study to assess the impact of a novel creative arts intervention on depression and well-being in adolescents.

Pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome (PANS) is characterized by sudden onset of obsessive-compulsive disorder and/or eating restriction with associated neuropsychiatric symptoms from at least two of seven categories. The PANS 31-Item Symptom Rating Scale (PANS Rating Scale) was developed to identify and measure the severity of PANS symptoms. The objective of this study was to define the psychometric properties of the PANS Rating Scale.

It is shown that ion-beam irradiation changes the characteristics of yttrium iron garnet films on a submicron scale in a highly controlled way, allowing one to engineer the magnonic index of refraction adapted to desired applications. This technique does not physically remove material, and allows rapid fabrication of high-quality architectures of modified magnetization in magnonic media with minimal edge damage (compared to more common removal techniques such as etching or milling).

Although other specialties routinely use general anesthesia for liposuction, the safety profile of liposuction using local anesthesia is impressive. This article traces the history and development of liposuction by dermatologists in the United States.

Background: Vascularized composite allotransplantation has redefined the frontiers of plastic and reconstructive surgery. At the cutting edge of this evolving paradigm, the authors present the first successful combined full face and bilateral hand transplant.
Methods: A 21-year-old man presented for evaluation with sequelae of an 80 percent total body surface area burn injury sustained after a motor vehicle accident.

This paper presents a system-level efficiency analysis, a rapid design methodology, and a numerical demonstration of efficient sub-micron, spin-wave transducers in a microwave system. Applications such as Boolean spintronics, analog spin-wave-computing, and magnetic microwave circuits are expected to benefit from this analysis and design approach. These applications have the potential to provide a low-power, magnetic paradigm alternative to modern electronic systems, but they have been stymied by a limited understanding of the microwave, system-level design for spin-wave circuits.

The purpose of this research is to identify microregional UC hotspots and associated industrial and environmental risk factors.
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively queried a multi-institutional database for UC patients diagnosed between 2008 and 2018.
Quantitative pharmacology brings important advantages in the design and conduct of pediatric clinical trials. Herein, we demonstrate the application of a model-based approach to select doses and pharmacokinetic sampling scenarios for the clinical evaluation of a novel oral suspension of spironolactone in pediatric patients with edema. A population pharmacokinetic model was developed and qualified for spironolactone and its metabolite, canrenone, using data from adults and bridged to pediatrics (2 to <17 years old) using allometric scaling.

New York City was swiftly declared the epicenter of the pandemic in the United States as case numbers grew exponentially in a matter of days, quickly threatening to overwhelm the capacity of the health care system. This burgeoning crisis led practitioners across specialties to adapt and mobilize rapidly.

From a joint analysis (4×2pt+N) of cluster abundances, three cluster cross-correlations, and the auto correlations of the galaxy density measured from the first year data of the Dark Energy Survey, we obtain Ω_{m}=0.305_{-0.

Little is known about the longitudinal course of pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome (PANS) because existing literature is primarily cross-sectional. To begin to address this gap, two digital platforms were used to prospectively monitor neuropsychiatric symptoms in children with PANS. The aim was to identify baseline clinical characteristics that would predict the course of neuropsychiatric symptoms over 12 weeks.

These sensors use a resonant nanoantenna to couple the IR energy to a nanoscale thermocouple. They are positioned over a cavity, etched into the Si substrate, that provides thermal isolation and is designed as an optical element to focus the IR radiation to the antenna.

Currently, the state-of-the-art for diagnosing OCD in youth involves interviews with adolescent patients and their parents by an experienced clinician, symptom rating scales based on Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), and behavioral observation. Discovering signal processing and network-based biomarkers from functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) scans of patients has the potential to assist clinicians in their diagnostic assessments of adolescents suffering from OCD.

Millions of birds move through the western USA, yet this region is understudied as a migratory corridor. Characterizing movements in the Pacific Flyway offers a unique opportunity to study complementary patterns to those recently highlighted in the Atlantic and Central Flyways.

This paper reports a two-orders-of-magnitude improvement in the sensitivity of antenna-coupled nanothermocouple (ACNTC) infrared detectors. The electrical signal generated by on-chip ACNTCs results from the temperature difference between a resonant antenna locally heated by infrared radiation and the substrate. A cavity etched under the antenna provides two benefits.

The Dark Energy Survey has measured 207 spectroscopically confirmed type Ia supernova light curves, the baryon acoustic oscillation feature, weak gravitational lensing, and galaxy clustering. Here we present combined results from these probes, deriving constraints on the equation of state, w, of dark energy and its energy density in the Universe.

We argue curated knowledge bases will remain an important component of future diagnostic decision support systems by providing ground truth and facilitating explainable human-computer interaction, but that prototype development is hampered by the lack of freely available computable knowledge bases.
Methods: We constructed an open access knowledge base and evaluated its potential in the context of a prototype decision support system.
