This study examines methane (CH) emission factors from biogas and wastewater treatment plants, based on primary and secondary data collected from 109 facilities. Primary emission data were measured at 19 facilities representing prevalent plant configurations across Europe. Statistical analysis highlights two categorical variables, namely primary feedstock and plant size, expressed as CH production (≤250 kgh: small and medium-sized plants, >250 kgh: large plants), each of which has a significant impact on whole-site CH emissions.

Feeding and oviposition deterrence of three secondary plant compounds and their 1:1 blends to adult female Pergande (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) and the potential for habituation of the thrips to the pure compounds and the 1:1 blends at various concentrations were investigated. In choice assays, we tested dose-dependent feeding and oviposition deterrence of the two fatty acid derivatives methyl jasmonate and -jasmone, the phenylpropanoid allylanisole, and their blends when directly applied to bean leaf discs. The concentration required to reduce the feeding damage by 50% relative to the control treatment (FDC) was lowest for -jasmone and highest for allylanisole.

The purpose of this study was to identify melanoma patients with positive sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs) at increased risk for further metastases in this specific lymph node basin. A series of consecutive patients with primary malignant melanoma stage I and II were evaluated retrospectively. The results of SLN biopsy in 26 patients with positive SLNs were compared with those of complete regional lymph node dissection (RLND) using the recently published S-classification of SLNs.
