Purpose: To explore actions taken by health care professionals during a procedure with a child with autism spectrum disorder DESIGN AND METHOD: Critical incident technique was used, which is a technique with a qualitative descriptive retrospective design, to capture situations experienced by health care professionals during a procedure in an anaesthesia or radiology department. Health care professionals from anaesthesia and radiology departments (n = 20) were interviewed about situations affecting the procedure.

Results: The findings revealed a broad range of actions (n = 205) taken by the health care professionals during a procedure with a child with autism spectrum disorder.

Aims: The aim of this study was to compare the effects of 5 years of supervised exercise training (ExComb), and the differential effects of subgroups of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT), with control on the cardiovascular risk profile in older adults.

Methods And Results: Older adults aged 70-77 years from Trondheim, Norway (n = 1567, 50% women), able to safely perform exercise training were randomized to 5 years of two weekly sessions of HIIT [∼90% of peak heart rate (HR), n = 400] or MICT (∼70% of peak HR, n = 387), together forming ExComb (n = 787), or control (instructed to follow physical activity recommendations, n = 780). The main outcome was a continuous cardiovascular risk score (CCR), individual cardiovascular risk factors, and peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak).

Objective: To examine whether 5 years of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) increases high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) concentration more than moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) and control (CON) in older men and women.

Methods: A total of 1567 older adults (790 [50.4%] women) were randomized (2:1:1) to either CON (n=780; asked to follow the national recommendations for physical activity) or 2 weekly sessions of HIIT (10-minute warm-up followed by 4×4-minute intervals at ∼90% of peak heart rate) or MICT (50 minutes of continuous work at ∼70% of peak heart rate).

Purpose: Characterize the static and dynamic functional connectivity for subjects with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy (JME) using a quantitative data-driven analysis approach.

Using thermal growth data from eight populations of anadromous and lake-feeding brown trout Salmo trutta, hypotheses of adaptation to local optima and countergradient variation in growth were tested. The adaptation to local optima hypothesis suggests that natural selection can shift optimal performance temperatures to match the prevailing temperature in a new or changed thermal niche. In contradiction, the countergradient variation hypothesis suggests that populations from hostile environments perform better than conspecifics from benign environments at all temperatures.

The development of quality assurance programmes for psychiatric care has increased the interest in quality of care and accountability from the patient's perspective. The aims of this study were threefold. First, to map descriptive characteristics of ideal outpatient psychiatric care through open-ended patient interviews, using a sample of 94 psychiatric outpatients, second, to have another sample of 84 outpatients rank the importance of 57 treatment characteristics extracted from the qualitative analysis of the interviews, and third to make comparisons with a previously performed investigation on quality of care of psychiatric inpatients.
