Current devices like the Jamar dynamometer and Martin Vigorimeter, although reliable, fail to measure extremely low force or pressure values required for individuals with severe hand impairments. This research introduces a novel device, a modified Martin Vigorimeter, utilizing an ultra-soft latex chamber and differential pressure measurement to detect minute pressure changes, thus significantly enhancing sensitivity.

Furthermore, recent performance studies evaluating airborne infection isolation (AII) rooms designed to house infectious patients have revealed major discrepancies between what is prescribed and what is actually measured.
Methods: We conducted an experimental study to investigate the use of high-throughput in-room air decontamination units for supplemental protection against airborne contamination in areas that host infectious patients.
Objectives: Colorectal cancer (CRC), developing from dysplastic lesions, is the main long-term complication of pancolitis. The aims of the present study were to assess the risks for neoplasia and advanced neoplasia (AN), respectively, in ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD) patients with pancolitis, and to search for protective and risk factors for colorectal neoplasia.
Methods: A total of 855 inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients with longstanding pancolitis (276 UC, 56 IBD unclassified (IBDu), and 523 CD) had pathological examination of a proctocolectomy specimen (n=255) or multiple biopsy samples from a surveillance colonoscopy (n=600) after median disease duration of 115 months.
