Methods: We retrospectively examined 610 consecutive patients excised with wide versus narrow margins, from 2001 to 2018, at six European centres.

This study analyzed clinicopathologic features and sentinel node status as potential prognostic factors in patients with AMTs.
Patients And Methods: Clinicopathologic and follow-up data of 238 children, adolescents, and adults with histologically proved AMTs consecutively treated at 12 European centers from 2000 through 2010 were retrieved from prospectively maintained databases.
Targeting the MAPK pathway by combined inhibition of BRAF and MEK has increased overall survival in advanced BRAF-mutant melanoma in both therapeutic and adjuvant clinical settings. However, a significant proportion of tumors develop acquired resistance, leading to treatment failure. View Article and Find Full Text PDFDesmoglein-3 (Dsg3), the Pemphigus Vulgaris (PV) antigen (PVA), plays an essential role in keratinocyte cell-cell adhesion and regulates various signaling pathways involved in the progression and metastasis of cancer where it is upregulated. We show here that expression of Dsg3 impacts on the expression and function of p53, a key transcription factor governing the responses to cellular stress. Dsg3 depletion increased p53 expression and activity, an effect enhanced by treating cells with UVB, mechanical stress and genotoxic drugs, whilst increased Dsg3 expression resulted in the opposite effects.

Objective: To investigate the influence of GDM on newborn FM in mother-newborn pairs recruited from a public maternity care center in São Paulo, Brazil.
Currently the study of Regulated Cell Death (RCD) processes is limited to the use of lysed cell populations for Western blot analysis of each separate RCD process. We have previously shown that intracellular antigen flow cytometric analysis of RIP3, Caspase-3 and cell viability dye allowed the determination of levels of apoptosis (Caspase-3/RIP3), necroptosis (RIP3/Caspase-3) and RIP1-dependent apoptosis (Caspase-3/RIP3) in a single Jurkat cell population. The addition of more intracellular markers allows the determination of the incidence of parthanatos (PARP), DNA Damage Response (DDR, H2AX), H2AX hyper-activation of PARP (H2AX/PARP) autophagy (LC3B) and ER stress (PERK), thus allowing the identification of 124 sub-populations both within live and dead cell populations.

Purpose: The purpose was to evaluate if there are differences between tears of contact lens (CL) wearers of different materials detectable by measuring the hydrodynamic diameter of tear components through photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS).
Methods: Tears of 59 CL wearers and tears of 39 non-wearers were collected by glass capillary. Wearers were divided into groups depending on the CL material: (i) hydrogels of II FDA group (H-II, 15 subjects), (ii) hydrogels of IV FDA group (H-IV, 13 subjects), (iii) silicone hydrogels (SH, 31 subjects).
Objective: To evaluate the nutritional profile of the population assisted at a reference center for cystic fibrosis treatment.
Methods: Cross-sectional study including patients with cystic fibrosis assisted at a pediatric reference center in São Paulo, Brazil, in 2014. All patients attending regular visits who agreed to participate in the study were included.
Eukaryotic nuclei are essential organelles, storing the majority of the cellular DNA, comprising the site of most DNA and RNA synthesis, controlling gene expression and therefore regulating cellular function. The majority of mammalian cells retain their nucleus throughout their lifetime, however, in three mammalian tissues the nucleus is entirely removed and its removal is essential for cell function. Lens fibre cells, erythroblasts and epidermal keratinocytes all lose their nucleus in the terminal differentiation pathways of these cell types.
