High-Risk HPV Screening Initiative in Kosovo-A Way to Optimize HPV Vaccination for Cervical Cancer.

Nearly all cervical cancers are caused by persistent high-risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV) infection. There are 14 recognized hrHPV genotypes (HPV 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 66, and 68), and hrHPV genotypes 16 and 18 comprise approximately 66% of all cases worldwide. An additional 15% of cervical cancers are caused by hrHPV genotypes 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58.

DICER1-sarcomas of GYN tract: Expanding on an emerging entity.

Tumors with pathogenic DICER1 mutation are rare and encompass sporadic or hereditary benign, intermediate and malignant tumors. DICER1-associated sarcomas are heterogeneous; however, the prototypical ones in the GYN-tract include embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, adenosarcoma and moderately to poorly differentiated Sertoli-Leydig tumor. In this report, we present three unique uterine sarcomas with DICER1 mutation and remarkable diffuse round/spindle cell morphology.

A Mimicker of Differentiated Vulvar Intraepithelial Neoplasia: Reactive Atypia From Noncompliance With Lichen Sclerosus Therapy.

Differentiated vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (d-VIN) is an HPV-independent precursor to vulvar squamous cell carcinoma. The histology of d-VIN lesions is difficult to differentiate from that of non-neoplastic epithelial disorders, especially lichen sclerosus (LS). The authors present a case of LS, where relying on histopathology alone could have led to misdiagnosis.

Recurrent pembrolizumab-induced mechanical small bowel obstruction in a patient with metastatic cervical cancer.

•Adverse events of pembrolizumab have been documented, but more severe gastrointestinal effects are not as well described.•We report a case of a patient with cervical cancer treated with pembrolizumab who developed small bowel obstruction (SBO)•Histological analysis and gastrointestinal workup points to pembrolizumab as likely cause of SBO.

Correlation of histopathologic findings with clinical predictors of disease recurrence and progression to vulvar carcinoma in patients with differentiated vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (dVIN).

Objective: To evaluate predictors of recurrence and the risk of progression to carcinoma in patients with dVIN.

Methods: 36 self-identified White patients with dVIN from 2011 to 2022 were identified. Demographics, treatment and clinical course were abstracted.

Resection and double pericardial patch repair of a congenital aneurysm of the mitral-aortic intervalvular fibrosa.

Mitral-aortic intervalvular fibrosa aneurysms and pseudoaneurysms are rare entities but can lead to different, unpredictable and sometime dramatic complications. We report the case of a young woman presenting a congenital form of this aneurysm. Given the clinical and symptomatological progression, surgical treatment is mandatory.

Calls for transformations are clear and multiple pathways and alternative visions for the future have been defined. Yet, there is very little shared understanding of how such transformations come about and how knowledge-action gaps will be filled. 'They all stay with me'-An interpretive phenomenological analysis on nurses' experiences resuscitating children in community hospital emergency departments.

Aim: To understand the lived experiences of nurses resuscitating children in community hospital emergency departments.

Background: Emergency department nurses exposed to paediatric resuscitations are at a high risk of developing post-traumatic stress. This may be especially true in community hospital emergency departments, where nurses have less exposure to, knowledge about, and resources for managing these events.

Part 2: New Graduate Nurse Transition Into the Intensive Care Unit: Summative Insights From a Longitudinal Mixed-Methods Study.

Background And Purpose: To address the nursing shortage, it is increasingly common for hospitals to hire new graduate nurses into intensive care units (ICU). New graduates in intensive care likely experience needs beyond those of their peers outside of critical care contexts. Yet, relatively little is known about the experiences of this unique population.

Case Study 8: Status of the Structural Mass Action Kinetic Model of P-gp-Mediated Transport Through Confluent Cell Monolayers.

In the first edition of this book, we presented the basics of explicitly incorporating the lipid biochemistry into a confluent cell monolayer transport model and the novel findings of this model up to 2013, including the use of global optimization to fit the elementary rate constants and the efflux active P-glycoprotein (P-gp) membrane concentrations for the transport of four P-gp substrates across MDCKII-hMDR1-NKI confluent cell monolayers. This chapter is an update on that model, which has been focused primarily on discovering how microvilli morphology regulates the efflux active P-gp and the existence of, as yet, unidentified uptake transporters of P-gp substrates in all of the commonly used P-gp expressing cell lines used in the pharmaceutical industry, thereby adding new players to DDI predictions and IVIVE. The structural mass action kinetic model uses the general mass action reactions for P-gp binding and efflux, with the membrane structural parameters for the confluent cell monolayer to predict drug transport over time.

Background: Sodium oxybate (Xyrem), approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for narcolepsy with cataplexy, is only available through risk mitigation programs due to potential adverse effects including respiratory and central nervous system depression, neuropsychiatric events, and misuse.

Objective: We report findings from a survey evaluating effectiveness of the European Union Xyrem Risk Management Plan (RMP).

Patients And Methods: A cross-sectional, online, multiple-choice survey was distributed to randomly selected healthcare professionals (HCPs) from six European countries (April 2016-May 2018).

Excessive accumulation of collagen leads to fibrosis. Integrin α1β1 (Itgα1β1) prevents kidney fibrosis by reducing collagen production through inhibition of the EGF receptor (EGFR) that phosphorylates cytoplasmic and nuclear proteins. To elucidate how the Itgα1β1/EGFR axis controls collagen synthesis, we analyzed the levels of nuclear tyrosine phosphorylated proteins in WT and Itgα1-null kidney cells.

Highly Stretchable, Directionally Oriented Carbon Nanotube/PDMS Conductive Films with Enhanced Sensitivity as Wearable Strain Sensors.

Recent interest in the fields of human motion monitoring, electronic skin, and human-machine interface technology demands strain sensors with high stretchability/compressibility (ε > 50%), high sensitivity (or gauge factor (GF > 100)), and long-lasting electromechanical compliance. However, current metal- and semiconductor-based strain sensors have very low (ε < 5%) stretchability or low sensitivity (GF < 2), typically sacrificing the stretchability for high sensitivity. Composite elastomer sensors are a solution where the challenge is to improve the sensitivity to GF > 100.

A Benefit Risk Review of Pediatric Use of Hydrocodone/Chlorpheniramine, a Prescription Opioid Antitussive Agent for the Treatment of Cough.

Hydrocodone/chlorpheniramine is a prescription opioid licensed in the USA for the relief of cough and upper respiratory symptoms associated with allergy or cold in adults, previously contraindicated in children aged < 6 years. We present findings from a modern benefit risk review of hydrocodone/chlorpheniramine use as an antitussive agent in patients aged 6 to < 18 years. A cumulative search of the manufacturer's pharmacovigilance database covering 1 January 1900-7 August 2017 identified all individual case safety reports (ICSRs) associated with product family name "hydrocodone/chlorpheniramine.

Dalangtan Saline Playa in a Hyperarid Region of Tibet Plateau: III. Correlated Multiscale Surface Mineralogy and Geochemistry Survey.

We report the first multiscale, systematic field-based testing of correlations between orbital scale advanced spaceborne thermal emission and reflection radiometer visible near-infrared (VNIR)/shortwave infrared (SWIR) reflectance and thermal infrared relative emissivity and outcrop scale Raman spectroscopy, VNIR reflectance, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) mineralogy and chemistry in a saline dry lakebed. This article is one of three reports describing the evolution of salt deposits, meteorological record, and surface and subsurface salt mineralogy in Dalangtan, Qaidam Basin, a hyperarid region of the Tibet Plateau, China, as potential environmental, mineralogical, and biogeochemical analogs to Mars. We have successfully bridged remote sensing data to fine scale mineralogy and chemistry data.
