Peritoneal reimplantation of trophoblastic tissue following laparoscopic treatment of ectopic pregnancy: A case report and review of literature.

Reimplantation of trophoblastic tissue in the abdomen after treatment of an ectopic pregnancy is rarely reported but is very likely an underestimated complication to laparoscopy. We present a case report and review of the literature. A total of 25 cases of reimplantation of trophoblastic tissue following laparoscopic removal of ectopic pregnancy (EP) have been reported in the period January 1989 to January 2018 including our case.

[Incarcerated retroverted gravid uterus successfully repositioned with colonoscopy].

A 36-year-old woman presented with a urinary retention at gestational age 15 weeks + 5 days. After two days with intermittent catheterisation a magnetic resonance imaging confirmed the diagnosis. Under spinal anaesthesia with ultrasonographic guidance, manual reposition of the incarcerated uterus was first tried, but unsuccessfully.

Effect of breed on performance and meat quality of first parity sows in a seasonal organic rearing system.

Background: The objective was to compare the performance and meat quality of two different pig breeds: the modern crossbred Landrace × Yorkshire (LY) and the traditional Danish Black-Spotted (BS) breed. The LY gilts and four of the BS gilts were inseminated with semen from Duroc (D) boars; the remaining BS gilts were served by BS boars. The experiment was performed on 26 gilts over 2 years.

The clinical impact of screening for gestational diabetes.

Recently both the American Diabetes Organization (ADA) and World Health Organization (WHO) have revised the diagnostic recommendations for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), however, they did not not reach agreement on the criteria for diagnosis, the referral criteria for the confirmatory oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), its standardization, and diagnostic cut-off point. The aims of this study were to investigate if the fasting venous plasma glucose mmol/l (f-vPG) and the 2-hour venous plasma glucose mmol/l (2h-vPG) after a WHO standardized 75 g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) in a non-risk group of pregnant women during first and third trimester of pregnancy deviated from that of risk groups, to establish a reference interval for f-vPG and 2h-vPG, and to investigate the predictive role of f-vPG for the 2h-vPG glucose concentration. This is a population-based case-control study where a consecutive number of pregnant women were invited to screening irrespective of their risk factors for GDM.

Preoperative transcervical analgesia for laparoscopic sterilization with Filshie clips. A double blind randomized trial.
