Extraction of uranium from water is an essential step in leach (ISL) mining and environmental decontamination. This is often done by precipitating uranium in solution as the uranyl peroxide studtite, [(UO)(O)(HO)](HO), by adding hydrogen peroxide, which is energy-intensive to produce and hazardous to transport. Here, we present a method for synthesizing studtite, by generating reactive oxygen species in solution using a nonthermal plasma.

Comparison of CHOP-19 and CHOP-25 for treatment of peripheral nodal B-cell lymphoma in dogs: A European multicenter retrospective cohort study.

Background: Peripheral nodal B-cell lymphomas (PNBCL) represent the most common presentation of lymphomas in dogs. Multiagent CHOP (C = cyclophosphamide, H = hydroxydaunorubicin [Doxorubicin], O = Oncovin, P = prednisolone)-based chemotherapy protocols have been widely accepted as gold standard 1st-line treatment. CHOP-25 and CHOP-19 are most commonly prescribed but have never been directly compared.

A human lectin array for characterizing host-pathogen interactions.

A human lectin array has been developed to probe the interactions of innate immune receptors with pathogenic and commensal microorganisms. Following the successful introduction of a lectin array containing all of the cow C-type carbohydrate-recognition domains (CRDs), a human array described here contains the C-type CRDs as well as CRDs from other classes of sugar-binding receptors, including galectins, siglecs, R-type CRDs, ficolins, intelectins, and chitinase-like lectins. The array is constructed with CRDs modified with single-site biotin tags, ensuring that the sugar-binding sites in CRDs are displayed on a streptavidin-coated surface in a defined orientation and are accessible to the surfaces of microbes.

UTe[Formula: see text] possesses a complex phase landscape comprising two magnetic field-induced superconducting phases, a metamagnetic transition to a field-polarized state, along with pair- and charge-density wave orders. However, contradictory reports between studies performed on UTe[Formula: see text] specimens of varying quality have severely impeded theoretical efforts to understand the microscopic origins of the exotic superconductivity.

Background: A large proportion of pregnant women in lower and middle-income countries (LMIC) seek their first antenatal care after 14 weeks of gestation. While the last menstrual period (LMP) is still the most prevalent method of determining gestational age (GA), ultrasound-based foetal biometry is considered more accurate in the second and third trimesters. Promoting Growth in Behavioral Neurology: A Path Forward.

Behavioral neurology & neuropsychiatry (BNNP) is a field that seeks to understand brain-behavior relationships, including fundamental brain organization principles and the many ways that brain structures and connectivity can be disrupted, leading to abnormalities of behavior, cognition, emotion, perception, and social cognition. In North America, BNNP has existed as an integrated subspecialty through the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties since 2006. Study of biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) ceramics of tilapia fish bones by age.

Biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP), consisting of bioceramics such as HAp + β-TCP and Ca(PO)(OH) + Ca(PO), is a popular choice for optimizing performance due to its superior biological reabsorption and osseointegration. In this study, BCP was produced by calcining the bones of tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) reared in net cages and slaughtered at an age ranging from 15 to 420 days. The bones were cleaned and dried, calcined at 900 °C for 8 h, and then subjected to high-energy grinding for 3 h to produce BCP powders.

Acute liver failure in pregnancy.

Liver function abnormalities are noted in a minority of pregnancies with multiple causes for the same. A small proportion of these develop severe liver injury and progress to acute liver failure (ALF). Surgical management of sternal tumours-a decade of experience from a tertiary care centre in India.

Tumours of the sternum can be either primary or secondary with malignancy being the most common etiology. Wide local excision of these tumours results in a midline defect which pose a unique challenge for reconstruction. As limited data on the management of these tumours exists in the literature, we hereby report 14 consecutive patients who were treated at our institute between January 2009 to December 2020.
