Objective: Opportunity exists for improved local control rates of grade 2 meningiomas that recur despite maximal surgical resection and adjuvant fractionated radiotherapy (RT). We describe a dose escalation strategy of increasing the total tumor radiation dose by adding a stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) boost targeting gross disease to fractionated RT.
Methods: A single-institution retrospective cohort of patients from 2009-2023 with grade 2 meningioma treated with surgical resection, fractionated RT, and SRS boost were evaluated for baseline characteristics, local disease control, and adverse events (AE).
Scope: Polyphenols from the phytoestrogen group, including pterostilbene (PTS), are known for their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer effects. In recent reports, phytoestrogens attenuate age-related diseases; however, their pro-longevity effects in healthy models in mammals remain unknown. As longevity research demonstrates age-related transcriptomic signatures in human blood, the current study hypothesizes that phytoestrogen-supplemented diet may induce changes in gene expression that ultimately confer pro-longevity benefits.

To facilitate IP chemotherapy of ovarian cancer, we developed an in-situ crosslinkable hydrogel depot containing paclitaxel (PTX) nanocrystals (PNC). PNC suppressed SKOV3 cell proliferation more efficiently than microparticulate PTX precipitates (PPT), and the gel containing PNC (PNC-gel) showed a lower maximum tolerated dose than PPT-containing gel (PPT-gel) in mice, indicating greater dissolution and cellular uptake of PNC than PPT.
