A Rare Self-Inflicted Stabbing to the Neck Injuring the Distal Trachea and Proximal Esophagus.

Penetrating neck trauma poses a significant risk to multiple vital structures, which if not treated immediately may lead to devastating consequences. Our patient presented after sustaining self-inflicted stab wounds to the neck. He was taken to the operating room for a left neck exploration and median sternotomy, revealing a distal tracheal injury.

Schwannomas are mostly benign tumors that originate from Schwann cells and are rarely seen in the gastrointestinal tract. Our patient is a 65-year-old female who was found to have a 1.5 cm lesion at the gastroesophageal junction, which was clipped and excised on endoscopy.
