Synthesis, Resolution, and Absolute Configuration of Chiral Tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine-Based Hemicryptophane Molecular Cages.

The synthesis, characterization, and chiroptical properties of a new class of hemicryptophane cages combining a cyclotriveratrylene unit and a tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (TPA) moiety are reported. Changing the linkers between these two units allows for the modification of the size and shape of the cavity. The synthesis is straightforward and efficient, providing gram-scale of cage compounds.

Improved hemicryptophane hosts for the stereoselective recognition of glucopyranosides.

Four new enantiomerically and diastereomerically pure hemicryptophane hosts (M-SSS-2/P-SSS-2 and M-RRR-2/P-RRR-2 pairs) were designed for the recognition of sugar derivatives. Their absolute configuration was determined from the circular dichroism spectra and DFT calculations. The host molecules were then used for the stereoselective recognition of glucopyranosides.

Borderline personality disorder and rTMS: a pilot trial.

A randomized, controlled study was carried out to assess the effect of a series of 10 sessions of high-frequency rTMS to the right DLPFC in 10 Borderline Personality Disorder patients. Patients in the rTMS group showed improvements in anger, affective instability (Borderline Personality Disorder Severity Index) and planning (Tower Of London). Two smoking cessations were observed.

Peritraumatic reactions and posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms after psychiatric admission.

The present study aimed to explore exposure to stressful events during a psychiatric admission and the predictive power of peritraumatic distress and dissociation in the development of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms after exposure to such events. Psychiatric inpatients (N = 239) were asked to report exposure to stressful events during their admission within 48 hours of being admitted. Individuals reporting at least one stressful event during admission (n = 70, 29%) were assessed for peritraumatic dissociation and distress in relation to this event and, 5 weeks later, were reassessed for PTSD symptoms.
