Objectives: We aimed to improve the operational efficiency of clinical staff, including physicians and allied health professionals, in the previsit review of patients by implementing a disease-focused dashboard within the electronic health record system. The dashboard was tailored to the unique requirements of the clinic and patient population.
Methods: A prospective quality improvement study was conducted at an accredited pulmonary hypertension (PH) clinic within a large academic center, staffed by two full time physicians and two allied health professionals.
Spermatogonial stem cell (SSC) technologies that are currently under clinical development to reverse human infertility hold the potential to be adapted and applied for the conservation of endangered and vulnerable wildlife species. The biobanking of testis tissue containing SSCs from wildlife species, aligned with that occurring in pediatric human patients, could facilitate strategies to improve the genetic diversity and fitness of endangered populations. Approaches to utilize these SSCs could include spermatogonial transplantation or testis tissue grafting into a donor animal of the same or a closely related species, or in vitro spermatogenesis paired with assisted reproduction approaches.

CSEPs occur at an estimated frequency of 1 in 1,800 pregnancies, constituting approximately 6% of ectopic pregnancies in women with a history of prior cesarean delivery [1, 2]. Despite numerous recommended therapeutic approaches, the most effective treatment strategy remains uncertain [3].

Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is associated with higher mortality and the interest in its early detection and treatment is increasing. The objective of this study is to determine the frequency and severity of symptomatic PAD, and to establish its relationship with mortality in HD patients that have received treated early and compare them with a cohort of our center already reported.

Designing an optic with second-order semi-aplanatism requires the use of freeform surfaces, and can be done as a limit case of the SMS 3D design method applied to stigmatically image 3 collinear object points. The algorithm for this specific design problem is described and a lens example with 3 freeform surfaces is designed and analyzed.

The main objective was to explore attitudes about COVID-19 information and prevention strategies among South Florida's diverse Latinx populations, across a broad geographical area. The study used a semi-structured focus group qualitative design and chose participants from four well established Latinx neighborhoods.

Methods: Women with chronic knee osteoarthritis were randomly assigned to the aquatic training group or to the individualized comprehensive rehabilitation (ICR) group. The main outcomes were functionality assessed with the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index, physical performance assessed with the Timed Up and Go test and the Stair Climbing Test, and perceived health status evaluated with the European Quality of Life- 5 Dimensions questionnaire.
Background: The portfolio of hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers and the techniques of administration have evolved in recent years. The latest innovation in the Vycross range was the introduction of VYC-25L (Juvéderm Volux ; Allergan plc), a first-in-class filler effective for chin and facial lower third remodeling. The aim here was to provide clinicians who are starting to use VYC-25L with key advice, and to standardize procedures so that optimal and predictable outcomes can be obtained.

We used the National Cancer Database (NCDB) to compare survival following SLND and ALND in breast cancer patients with residual LN disease.
Methods: We analyzed NCDB patients, treated between 2006 and 2014, with cT1-3, cN1, cM0 breast cancer and residual disease in 1-3 axillary LNs (ypN1) following NAC.
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pneumonia emerged in Wuhan, China in December 2019. Unfortunately, there is a lack of evidence about the optimal management of novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and even less is available in patients on maintenance hemodialysis therapy than in the general population. In this retrospective, observational, single-center study, we analyzed the clinical course and outcomes of all maintenance hemodialysis patients hospitalized with COVID-19 from March 12th to April 10th, 2020 as confirmed by real-time polymerase chain reaction.

Twenty-four school-aged children (12 overweight and 12 non-overweight) were observed during 2 play sessions: the 1st session consisted of 2 tests that required agility (A) and 1 that required strength (S) in an A-S-A design; the 2nd session consisted of 2 strength tests and 1 agility in an S-A-S design. Before each session, 2 participants were asked to choose members for their teams.

This research addresses the mental health practices in the general public hospitals of the city of Rosario and Gran Rosario, Argentina, from the workers' perspective.

They are often trapped in a poor local minimum and it can be highly time-consuming to find a good solution in a bumpy design landscape. The simultaneous multiple surface (SMS) method can significantly shorten the time and effort needed to find a desired solution by providing a starting point to optimize close to a good local minimum.

The method is compared to Monte-Carlo raytracing for a sample system, producing in much less time an irradiance distribution equal to within the latter's statistical noise. In addition to its interest to optical analysis, the method is also useful for optical design problems by allowing for fast, noise-free evaluation of merit functions, along with their derivatives.

With relatively little is known about the genetic abnormalities present in these secondary tumors, we examined genomic variation in biospecimens from radiation-associated breast angiosarcomas.
Experimental Design: Patients were identified that had a previous breast cancer diagnosis, received radiation therapy, and developed angiosarcoma in the ipsilateral breast as the earlier cancer.
Multi-chip and large size LEDs dominate the lighting market in developed countries these days. Nevertheless, a general optical design method to create prescribed intensity patterns for this type of extended sources does not exist. We present a design strategy in which the source and the target pattern are described by means of "edge wavefronts" of the system.

We also demonstrate how two optical surfaces, in general, are insufficient in achieving freeform aplanatism through the use of integrability condition for a given reflective freeform aplanatic configuration. This result also alludes to the fact that a freeform aplanatic system fulfills a broader set of conditions than its rotationally symmetric counterpart.

Methods: A total of 45 patients with early-stage breast cancer received adjuvant APBI in 2 days with high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy totaling 2800 cGy in 4 fractions (700 cGy BID) using a balloon-based applicator as part of a prospective phase I/II clinical trial. All patients had negative margins and skin spacing ≥8 mm.
We investigate a new afocal two freeform mirror design problem in first order optics. The resulting first-order partial differential equations for the freeform two mirror system have an analytic solution with the sole condition that the x-y and x'-y' axes are parallel. Two selected solutions are presented.

Here, we engineer an electrospun elastin-like protein (ELP) system with independently tunable, vECM-mimetic topography and demonstrate that increasing topographical variation causes loss of endothelial cell-cell junction organization. This loss of VE-cadherin signaling and increased cytoskeletal contractility on more topographically varied ELP substrates in turn promote YAP activation and nuclear translocation, resulting in significantly increased endothelial cell migration and proliferation.

We extend the basic formulations governing rotationally symmetric aplanatic systems to freeform aplanatic systems and provide a formal proof that a SMS 3D design in the limiting case of 3 coincident points leads to a freeform aplanatic system.
