Prevalence, risk level and risk factors of diabetic foot ulcer among adult individuals with diabetes in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkiye.

Objective: The aim of the study was to determine the prevalence, risk, and predisposing factors of diabetic foot ulcers in adults with diabetes.

Methods: This study is multi-centered descriptive cross-sectional research. Data were collected between June 2022 and November 2022 in seven cities, including five teaching and research hospitals and two public hospitals.

Sinapic acid (SA) is a polyphenol compound derived from hydroxycinnamic acid found in various foods such as cereals and vegetables and has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties. However, its effects on glutamate-induced excitotoxicity, which is important in neurodegenerative diseases, have not been fully elucidated. This study aimed to investigate the effect of SA on glutamate excitotoxicity and the possible role of proinflammatory cytokines and the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress pathway.

Introduction: To evaluate the prognostic impact of substantial lymph vascular space invasion (LVSI) on the sentinel lymph node involvement and recurrence rate of patients with apparent uterine-confined endometrial cancer.

Materials And Methods: We enrolled consecutive patients with apparent confined endometrial cancer who underwent surgical staging with sentinel node mapping from 14 European reference centers. LVSI was analyzed semi-quantitatively, according to a 3-tiered scoring system classified as absent, focal, and substantial.

Introduction: Assessment of retroperitoneal nodes is an important part of the surgical staging of gynecologic cancers. Although pelvic and paraaortic lymphadenectomy have been widely described by different authors, there is little consensus on the description of the different surgical steps for each procedure. Dropping Objects in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Clinical and Electrophysiological Features.

Background Dysfunction in both afferent sensory and efferent motor components of the median nerve may contribute to the manifestation of the symptom of dropping objects (DO) in carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). The objective of this study was to compare the clinical and electrophysiological characteristics of CTS patients with dropping objects (wDO) and those without dropping objects (w/oDO). The study evaluated the correlation between DO symptoms and median partial conduction block, as well as the reduction in median motor conduction velocity at the wrist.

Background: Rett syndrome (RTT) is a rare neurodevelopmental disorder that primarily affects females and is characterized by a period of normal development followed by severe cognitive, motor, and communication impairment. Comparison of the effects of pelvic floor muscle training and modified pilates exercises in elderly women with stress urinary incontinence: A randomized clinical trial.

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the effects of pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) and modified pilates exercises (MPE) in elderly women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI).

Study Design: Both randomized groups [Group 1: PFMT (n = 17), Group 2: MPE (n = 17)] performed their exercises twice a week for 12 weeks. Incontinence Severity Index (ISI), Urogenital Distress Inventory-Short Form (UDI-6) and Incontinence Impact Questionnaire-Short Form (IIQ-7) were used to assess SUI frequency and level of exposure from symptoms, electromyography (EMG) device was used to assess PFM activation response and a stabilizer was used to assess transversus abdominis (TrA) muscle strength.

Yin yang 1 (YY1), a transcription factor, plays crucial roles in cell fate specification, differentiation, and pluripotency during embryonic development. It is also involved in tumorigenesis, drug resistance, metastasis, and relapse caused by cancer stem cells (CSCs), particularly in prostate cancer (PCa). Targeting YY1 could potentially eliminate prostate CSCs (PCSCs) and provide novel therapeutic approaches.

A cancer mass is composed of a heterogeneous group of cells, a small part of which constitutes the cancer stem cells since they are less differentiated and have a high capacity to develop cancer. Versican is an extracellular matrix protein located in many human tissues. The mRNA of versican has been shown to have "splicing patterns" as detected by RT-PCR, northern blot analysis, and cDNA sequencing.

A Rare Complication: Severe Valgus Deformity After Open-Wedge High Tibial Osteotomy.
