Peri-operative blood transfusion in elective major surgery: incidence, indications and outcome - an observational multicentre study.

Background: Patients' demographic and epidemiological characteristics, local variations in clinicians' knowledge and experience and types of surgery can influence peri-operative transfusion practices. Sharing data on transfusion practices and recipients may improve patients' care and implementation of Patient Blood Management (PBM).

Effects of P6 acustimulation with the ReliefBand on postoperative nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing gynecological laparoscopy.

We investigated the effects of P6 acustimulation on the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV), antiemetic requirements, and side effects in patients undergoing gynecological laparoscopy with a high risk of PONV. Sixty-two patients were divided into 2 groups randomly: a ReliefBand group (RB group) and a sham ReliefBand group (S group). [Seroprevalence of hepatitis B and C infections in surgical personnel and evaluation of predisposing factors].
