Study Design: This is a prospective study.

Objective: The prevalence of erectile dysfunction (ED) in patients younger than 50 years with fracture-unrelated lumbar spine disease requiring surgical decompression without other risk factors for ED is evaluated.

Spontaneous spinal epidural haematomas (SSEHs) are rare causes of spinal cord compression. We present 2 cases of thoracic SSEHs with similar magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features. Patient 1 was on long-term oral anticoagulants and patient 2 had uncontrolled hypertension.

Randomized trial of rubber band ligation vs. stapled hemorrhoidectomy for prolapsed piles.

Purpose: The introduction of stapled hemorrhoidectomy may replace local techniques such as rubber band ligation as a first-line treatment for Grade III and small Grade IV piles. We conducted a randomized trial to determine the role of rubber band ligation in the era of stapled hemorrhoidectomy.

Methods: Fifty-five patients with Grade III or small Grade IV hemorrhoids were randomly allocated to either rubber band ligation or stapled hemorrhoidectomy.
