Bisphenol A (BPA) is a polymerizing agent commonly found in plastics that has been linked to xenoestrogenic activity. In this study, we analyzed the estrogen-like effects of BPA on the expression of estrogen receptor (ER)α and p53 with hormonal and antihormonal treatments in T-47D and MCF-7 cells. To investigate the contribution of geometry on the adsorption process, we present a theoretical study of the low-pressure physisorption of hydrogen on isolated nanotubes and nanotube bundles through the second virial coefficient, B(AS), computed classically with an uncorrugated adsorption potential. The optimal nanotube bundle geometry at low pressure for a Lennard-Jones adsorption potential is obtained by studying the second virial coefficient, B(AS), for variable radius or bundle lattice constant. The most favorable bundle adsorption sites at low pressures and temperatures are identified for typical bundle structures and the relative contribution of interstitial sites relative to other sites is discussed as a function of temperature and pressure.

In order to produce macaque monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against human red blood cell (RBC) antigens, macaques were immunized with human and gorilla RBCs and their spleen lymphocytes were fused with man-mouse heteromyeloma cells. A distribution study was carried out on Cynomolgus monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) dosed orally with 14C-labelled N-N'-dicyclopropyl-methyl-piperazine-dichlor-hydrate 14C-Ino 2628-CZ and sacrificed 2, 8 and 24 h after dosage, using whole-body autoradiography. It is demonstrated that radioactivity is found in all the body; high intakes occur in melanin containing tissues, in blood-forming organs, and in accessory genital glands. The absorption, distribution, excretion and metabolism of radiochemically labelled 14C-Ino 2628-CZ has been studied in male and female rats after intravenous and oral administration. Two groups of 4 sheep received a daily iv injection of sodium heptamolybdate (100mg/day) or of saline for 2 weeks to study the hematological and plasma biochemical effects of molybdenum toxicosis.
