The current study assessed the contamination levels and associated ecological and health risks due to hazardous trace elements in soils from Awanda and Mvengue, located in the vicinity of the Lolodorf uranium deposit in Southern Cameroon. Qualitative and quantitative analyses of the soil samples were performed using energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry. The results indicated that the mean concentrations of metallic and trace elements in soil samples increased in the following order: U < As < Th < Pb < Cu < Ni < Zn < Cr < Mn < Fe < Al.

The greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventories in our context result from the production of electricity from fuel oil at the Mbalmayo thermal power plant between 2016 and 2020. Our study area is located in the Central Cameroon region. The empirical method of the second level of industrialisation was applied to estimate GHG emissions and the application of the genetic algorithm-Gaussian (GA-Gaussian) coupling method was used to optimise the estimation of GHG emissions.

In this paper, we study both analytically and numerically the dynamics of CSCs under radiotherapy effects. The dynamical model takes into account the diffusion of cells, the de-differentiation (or plasticity) mechanism of differentiated cancer cells (DCs) and the time delay on the interaction between microRNAs molecules (microRNAs) with DCs.

Background: The purpose was to evaluate the incidence of acute and late rectal toxicities and their correlation with the clinical and dosimetric parameters of patients who underwent curative radiotherapy for localized prostate cancer at the Akanda Cancer Institute, Gabon.
Materials And Methods: Between 2013 and 2021, a cohort of 46 patients with clinically localized stage cT1c-T4 prostate cancer was treated with three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT) at the national cancer institute with doses ranging from 66 to 80 Gy. Post-radiation gastrointestinal (GI) toxicities were classified and graded according to the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events CTCAE v4.
The present work was aimed at measuring indoor radon activity concentrations in dwellings in Mvangan locality, South Cameroon, in order to assess the extent of measures that may be necessary for controlling public indoor radon exposure in this area. Measurements were carried out using passive solid-state nuclear track detectors (RADONAVA Inc., RadTrak2, Sweden) following ISO 11665-4 standard.

The RADTRAK, RadonEye, and Markus 10 detectors were used to measure radon concentrations in dwellings and soil, respectively. To understand radon variations in the study area, a correlation coefficient between radon in soil and in dwellings was determined.

In our context, a nonidentical expansion for the solution of the fractional advection-diffusion equation in a non-integer dimensional-space was examined. In a nutshell, a Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problem with more reliable information concerning the initial value problem is discussed.
