Chitosan, a naturally occurring biopolymer derived from chitin, has emerged as a highly promising instrument for the production and application of metal nanoparticles. The present review delves into the several functions of chitosan in the development and operation of metal nanoparticles, emphasizing its aptitudes as a green reducing agent, shape-directing agent, size-controlling agent, and stabilizer. Chitosan's special qualities make it easier to manufacture metal nanoparticles and nanocomposites with desired characteristics.

Water contaminated by cytostatic drugs has many negative impacts on the ecosystems. In this work, cross-linked adsorbent beads based on alginate and a geopolymer (prepared from an illito-kaolinitic clay) were developed for a promising decontamination of the 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) cytostatic drug from water samples. Objectives: To assess the effectiveness of Triclosan coated suture in reducing surgical site infections (SSIs) rate after caesarian delivery (CD).

Study Design: Three hundred eighty patients were randomly assigned to closure with polyglactin non coated suture VICRYL, or with polyglactin coated suture VICRYL Plus after caesarian section.
