Background: Patient-centered burn care extends beyond physical treatment to incorporate the management of the psychological impacts including stress, pain, and anxiety. This study explores the novel application of massage therapy (MT) in children with acute burns, assessing utilization and impact on pain and relaxation.

Methods: A retrospective review of 198 children with thermal injury admitted to an American Burn Association-verified pediatric burn center between January 2022 and July 2023 was conducted, excluding those requiring intensive care admission.

Evaluation of home safety is recommended when children transition from hospital to home care, though despite best efforts, safety events, such as falls, still occur. Understanding the prevalence and causal factors of falls in CMC is critical for the development of fall prevention interventions and protocols.

Existing studies have been limited by the lack of available MT-specific outcome measures to track responses to interventions.

Clinical practice guideline and expert consensus recommendations for rehabilitation among children with cancer: A systematic review.

Increased attention to the rehabilitation needs of children with cancer is vital to enhance health, quality-of-life, and productivity outcomes. Among adults with cancer, rehabilitation recommendations are frequently incorporated into guidelines, but the extent to which recommendations exist for children is unknown. Reports included in this systematic review are guideline or expert consensus reports containing recommendations related to rehabilitation referral, evaluation, and/or intervention for individuals diagnosed with cancer during childhood (younger than 18 years).

Mobilization of Children with External Ventricular Drains: A Retrospective Cohort Study.
